**CRISPIE HOUSE** (Please scroll down for Crispie Lodge)

Crispie House is the perfect holiday home for a large group of family or friends who want to get away from it all in the Scottish Highlands. It’s a lovely rambling house which sleeps 16 people. With seven bedrooms, a large sitting room, spacious dining room, an indoor heated swimming pool, a games room and acres of grounds, all the generations can enjoy a relaxed holiday together. Light-filled and spacious, the house has been comfortably furnished to create a warm, homely and informal feel. Think roaring fires, lounging sofas and cosy rugs.

The house faces west, and the views across the loch to the Mull of Kintyre are simply stunning. The private grounds which surround the house provide a secluded haven; the only intruder might be the odd red squirrel. The lawn sweeps directly down to the shore, where you can enjoy a driftwood fire or a beach BBQ. There is a motor boat moored in the bay for our guests exclusive use subject of course to the weather - and somebody in your party will need to have at least the RYA Powerboat Level Two qualification with Coastal (not Inland) endorsement). Walk in the woods, amble round the coast, fish, swim, read, cycle or relax and enjoy the views. Dogs are welcome.

THE HOUSE CAN ONLY BE BOOKED BY THE WEEK, FROM SATURDAY TO SATURDAY

Wonderful House in a Wonderful Location

  • 5 out of 5
The fact that our family has been holidaying at Crispie house for over 25 years says it all. Parents, our generation, our children and now grand children have all enjoyed our annual Scottish holiday at Crispie.
The location on Loch Fyne is superb, with wonderful views from the house across the loch to Tarbet.
The house sleeps 16 people so each year's holiday is a great mix of family and friends. The children love the swimming pool, and it is a godsend for days when the Scottish weather (rain) makes outside excursions difficult. The adults can enjoy the sauna while keeping an eye on the children in the pool.
Great to enjoy home cooked meals from the well equipped kitchen, and then relax round the log fire in the sitting room with the lights of Tarbet twinkling in the distance through the large windows to the front of the house.
The on-site caretakers could not be more helpful in making our visits enjoyable and relaxing.

Peaceful & relaxing house

Peaceful & relaxing house
  • 5 out of 5
Peaceful and relaxing house and estate at the end of a 3 mile private road. Absolutely safe with no passing traffic, or even walkers just the occasional seal. We have been using Crispie for the last 15 years and it never fails to enable the whole family to have a full and exciting weeks holiday (including walking, cycling and boating). Water comes from a private reservoir, but recently we have been told it contains iron and although we have been drinking it for years, HSE suggests that until the water is removed prior to entering the house- drinking water is supplied. We have had no ill effects whatsoever drinking the water.

The new addition of wifi is brilliant, along with the coal fires for those chilly summer days.

The boat has been renewed laterally and is very sea worthy and at our most recent stay it was used daily for fishing and touring; most favorably for trips over to Portavadie.

We most definitely will be keeping up our annual holiday to Crispie.

Idyllic location for a West Coast getaway

  • 5 out of 5
We have stayed at both Crispie House and Crispie Lodge on a number of occasions and it has always been a fantastic experience. Set hidden away on the Cowal peninsula both properties have stunning views across Loch Fyne that I never tire of.

Whenever we have stayed everyone has loved it as it is perfect for large groups to just unwind and relax. Whilst there you can go for a swim (both in the pool or the sea), use the sauna (if staying at the House) and even take one of the boats out onto the loch. Even when the weather is not so good the property is such a social one that there are plenty of things to do inside, particularly at the House where you can play a game of pool or table tennis.

Highlights of our stays always include al fresco dining looking out across the water, coastal walks where you can go for miles without seeing another sole, swimming and plenty of social dinners running in to the small hours.

In addition to the properties themselves the family that own the property have always been nothing but helpful.

We shall be returning!!

Love it!

  • 5 out of 5
We have been going to Crispie House for 5 years now and I love it just as much now as I did the first time.
It's at the end of a long driveway and about 3 miles from the main road.
The views are amazing. BIG sky, Arran, Tarbert and then there is the wildlife. We were joined by a large group of seals when we kayaked up Loch Fyne, we had a visting deer in the garden every morning, swans and ducks with their off spring and gulls (no idea what kind!) diving into the Loch for fish. If there is no wind you can hear them hit the water! Fantastic! We also found tadpoles and newts in the rock pools.
The house is wonderful. We have family and friends coming and going throughout the week and we never feel like we are on top of each other. My daughter and her friends spend most of their time in the pool (they are teenagers) and games room and take over the pool wing of the house. Peace and quiet for us!
The dogs spend most of their time on the lawn playing or wandering on the beach.
The kitchen has everything you would need. 3 ovens (great when you have vegetarians) 2 dishwashers, 2 fridges and a massive chest freezer.
Now, there is only 1 shower but it's not actually a big deal. All the en suites have baths. I never have a bath at home as I can't be bothered or don't have time so it's great to enjoy them when away and truly relax.
The sitting room is huge with a TV and comfy sofas at one end and a log burner and massive comfy sofas and armchairs at the other end. Works beautifully when you're other half wants to watch the Grand Prix and you want to kick back and read a book. And there are 2 massive windows looking out at that big sky!
As for Paul & Liz? Well, Crispie wouldn't be Cripsie without them. They are always around if you need anything and we look forward to seeing them each year.
This is a fantastic area for cycling (road & mtb) running, kayaking, open water swimming, walking and I'm sure much more and I cannot recommend Crispie House highly enough.

Tranquility at it's very best

Tranquility at it's very best

My large family and I have holidayed at crispie for around 30 years. The house itself and surroundings are amazing in my opinion. All ages catered for considering we've had family members range from babies to family members in their 80's stay at crispie house. The fact that the car park is a stones throw from the door itself is Infact a blessing for the older holiday maker. The water itself giving the location is common sense really that it wouldn't be recommended for human consumption but I mean the wildlife and beauty of the surroundings far outweighs murky water, as you can always pour it into a smaller bottle may you wish to carry a bottle around. My auntie has arthritis and is in her 80's, she managed to stay hydrated each time we have holidayed at crispie. There's always a dishwasher for dishes and a washing machine for the laundry. The people who reside there all year round all their lives seem to manage so Ofcourse we can for a week. The care takers over the years have been lovely, nothing but welcoming and polite. Nothing is ever a bother for them. I wouldn't recommend this house for party goers, or people looking for nightlife as you won't find any unless you take the 8mile journey to the nearest village. To me this is the sheer beauty of crispie house (and crispie lodge, where we have also stayed) it's peaceful and tranquil. The wildlife is second to none. The views from the house across the loch are certainly a reason to visit. Wildlife all around you, beach on your door step. Not to mention the swimming pool and sauna. What more could you ask for. Each year when we go through those gates, I get goosebumps and I feel like I am "home again"
