Fish the lake year-round for salmon & lake trout or fly fish in the near by streams. Shuttle from Rockwood to Mt. Kineo, ride on the historic steamship Katahdin. Aerial tour in a float plane. Have fun on a moose safari, white water raft, water ski, swim, mountain bike, shop, snowmobile, cross country ski, downhill ski at nearby Big Squaw Mountain ski resort or spot deer and moose! Hiking trails range from easy to challenging. Golf courses include Mt. Kineo & Squaw Mountain. The Gulf Hagas (Grand Canyon of Maine) and Canada are both great day trips. Fall is exquisite at the Blue Ridge, and in winter, with the lake frozen, snowmobiling is a great way to explore this winter paradise.
