About Mariann & Les Ellis
Local artist Mariann Johansen-Ellis could not, not buy Casita Carmela when it came up for sale. Having visited friends who owned the house for many years, she knew the fantastic feeling the cottage has, the quiet and peace that surrounds and yet, it is right in the middle of Mijas. Marianns work, her prints, are on display in the house and in La Alacena, one of the many gorgeous shops in town.
Mariann & Les Ellis purchased this cottage in 2012
Why Mariann & Les Ellis chose Mijas
Casita Carmela was owned by a friend of mine, who also gave me art classes. I knew, what a wonderful ambience the house has, and think that eventually, when I get really old, I'll live here, and enjoy the fantastic view, the wonderful neighbours that are so kind, and the fact that Casita Carmela is a small cottage, with a grand view of things, in the best of Mijas locations.
What makes this cottage unique
Location Location Location, walking distance to everywhere in Mijas, off the main streets so not noisy at all, which can be a bit of a drag in Spanish villages, especially in summer with doors open. And of course, the view! the unbeatable view of the Mediterranean, and at night, the twinkling coast line.
