I have been a holiday home owner with HomeAway since 2010, and have always achieved five star reviews. I have recently changed properties to this lovely apartment in the beautiful historic centre of Royal Greenwich, having always loved the area. Myself and my husband, Kevin, live only twenty minutes away from the apartment, so are always on hand, if needed, to make sure our guests are comfortable.

Mary Porter-Riley purchased this apartment in 2013

Maritime Greenwich has joined a unique club of the most important and natural places on earth - special places which people are encouraged to visit and explore now and for generations to come.

The Royal Observatory, home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Prime Meridian line, is one of the most important historic scientific sites in the world. It was founded by Charles II in 1675 and is, by international decree, the official starting point for each new day, year and millennium (at the stroke of midnight GMT as measured from the Prime Meridian).

Visitors to the Observatory can stand in both the eastern and western hemispheres simultaneously by placing their feet either side of the Prime Meridian – the centre of world time and space.

The Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site comprises the historic town centre, Royal Park and related institutional buildings, and was inscribed by the World Heritage Convention.

The ensemble of buildings at Greenwich and their landscape setting, including the Royal Park, are a potent architectural symbol of English artistic, scientific and other institutional endeavour, notably from the 17th to late 19th centuries.

Greenwich Park hosts the Prime Meridian Line and Royal Observatory as well as being part of the Greenwich Maritime World Heritage Site which is home to The National Maritime Museum and Old Royal Naval College.

The oldest enclosed Royal Park, Greenwich dates back to 1427 and offers spectacular views across the River Thames to St Paul's Cathedral and beyond.

The vibrant town centre has so much to offer, with its historic covered market, its 'Clock Tower' bric-a-brac market and it's many unique shops, theatres, cinemas and restaurants.

All the attractions mentioned are an easy and very pleasant walk from the apartment.

This lovely Period Property is just moments from all Greenwich has to offer. Step outside the front door and you are spoilt for choice on how to spend your day!

Convenient for London's major airports, typical travelling times are just - Gatwick 48 mins, Heathrow 60 mins, London City 24 mins.

Our daughter and I stayed here for over three weeks - as she was relocating to London to live/work. The location was perfect. DLR outside the door practically, beautiful parks to walk/jog in and relax in downtime, and huge variety of grocery shops, dining options and tourist activities close by, made this a perfect place for a visit to London. Greenwich is like a county town rather than part of Greater London. Loved the long waterfront, where we discovered the marvellous Cutty Sark (pub for dining) beautiful views and great food. Also loved Jamies Italian restaurant, the Mitre Pub, the Gypsy Moth on a sunny day and enjoyed a super burger at Byrons. The beautiful Cutty Sark clipper was lovely to just look at every time I went to Marks and Spencers for our groceries! I noticed on last day we can even see the tip of two of the masts from the living room! So that is the location. The flat is indeed cosy, but we loved it, it felt like home for the time we were there, very clean and modern, enough for our needs for cooking/dining, and the owners were absolutely marvellous, couldnt be more helpful. Given the pricing of rental accommodation in London I would wholeheartedly recommend this for couples visiting. It is pretty, bright and tastefully decorated. NEver had enough time to take in all that the area offers but we will be back I hope to be just plain tourists next time. Thank you Mary and Kevin, we loved it!

I booked this apartment for a member of my staff who was visiting London. I found the owners very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The booking process was very straightforward and my security deposit was returned promptly and in full. My colleague really enjoyed his stay and requested that we book the same apartment for him when he comes back later this year.

Situated in the heart of vibrant Greenwich, a World Heritage Maritime Site, home of the famous Cutty Sark Historical Sailing Ship, Greenwich Observatory (where time began), and the stunning architecture of Greenwich Maritime Museum and University.

Greenwich is steeped in Royal History being the birthplace of Henry VIII who was baptised in St Alfege's Church, Greenwich.

Queen Elizabeth I was also born here.

A stunning walk into beautiful Greenwich Park brings you up to The Royal Observatory where you can discover the history of Time and stand on the actual Greenwich Meridian time line with one foot in the east and one in the west. The views from here of the River Thames, Canary Wharf and The City of London are quite spectacular.

Walk further through the park to discover historic Blackheath and Blackheath Village with it's many fabulous restaurants.
