The modern private villa (ID 1221) sits in a large sunny garden and offers the last word in luxurious holiday living.
Internally, guests can unwind in the contemporary home comfort of the open plan living and dining area. Offering an inviting ambience in which to socialise and entertain, the space is beautifully complemented by a breathtaking lake view backdrop.
Floor-to-ceiling windows invite the lake and mountains in, for a truly memorable setting in all seasons. The sumptuous sitting area oozes rustic charm, with an exposed stone wall and cosy sofa complemented by a wood burning stove. A roaring fire here in the wintertime offers a truly ambient setting for enjoying a favourite movie to the flat screen SAT TV and DVD player provided. WIFI access is also on hand for guest’s use. The room is ideal for year-round comfort, with the sliding glass doors offering a relaxed setting here in the warmer months too, where guests can easily stroll in and out of the garden at their leisure.
The stylish kitchen diner is fully-equipped with all the must-have appliances, for a chic and carefree stay. Complemented by an indoor dining area and a covered alfresco dining terrace to the lake view garden, the villa provides the perfect venue from which to savour summertime BBQs, evening drinks and for celebrating more special occasions.
The luxurious villa offers versatile sleeping arrangements to suit families and groups of 6-8. Two spacious double bedrooms both feature wardrobes and offer direct access to the sunny private garden. The master bedroom further boasts lake views and a beautiful open plan bathroom suite.
The third bedroom in the villa is situated to the lower ground floor and provides the perfect sleeping arrangements for younger guests, with a set of bunk beds and a double sofa bed featuring to the room. A modernist bathroom with walk-in shower also features to this floor, for guest’s convenience. A washing machine is also provided in the villa and outside private parking is provided.
For families’ additional comfort, a baby cot and high chair can be hired upon booking.
The beautiful lake view garden offers a breathtaking holiday haven from which to take in the serenity of the lake, or to entertain in style. The covered terrace allows groups to easily spill outside from the open plan living area. An alfresco dining area for 8 is accompanied by a chic set of rattan garden furniture, to provide a relaxed ambience for daytime enjoyment and informal entertaining.
A splendid private outdoor heated pool lined with sun loungers and a sun shade allows the perfect excuse to relax for the day, whilst private access to a beach (accessed by a flight of 64 steps) and private boat mooring offer easy and exclusive access to the lake itself.
Situated in the well serviced resort town of Porlezza, guests are within easy reach of a host of local supermarkets, delicatessens, restaurants, bars, shops and public transport links. The pretty lakefront town and surrounding area is home to a wide range of activities, which include water sports, hiking, horse riding, nature walks, dining out at ‘Agrotursimos’, a Spa day at Parco San Marco and enjoying the cosmopolitan shopping and nights out in Lugano city ( just a 21 minute drive away).
Lake Lugano is situated in the south east part of Switzerland and is located on the Switzerland and Italy border. Most of the Lake lies in Switzerlandand is named after the city of Lugano that is situated between Lake Como and Lake Maggiore. One of the many interesting features of Lake Lugano is it's shape, it's a long lake about 36 kilometres in length but the width of the lake does not exceed more than 2 kilometres at any point, also it is the only lake that has a bridge over it, connecting the two towns of Melide and Bisonne.
Lake Lugano is surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains, the area experiences a climate close to that of the Mediterranean climate, the beautiful mountains and the surrounding villages and towns, together make Lake Lugano the perfect holiday destination. Some of the interesting mountain peaks to visit near the lake include Monte Bre and Monte San Salvatore, Monte Bre is the closest to Lugano and is about 925 meters high, the mountain stretches over the border of Switzerland and into Porlezza is just 12 km, over the mountain pass from Menaggio on Lake Como and is on the scenic route to the town of Swiss town Lugano. Porlezza is the principle town at this Southern end of the Lake in Italy and adds an Italian flavour to a well known Swiss name!
Just above Porlezza is the village of Carlazzo which is close to the nature reserve surrounding Lake Piano and which has a rich and ancient history. With a castle of its own and medieval fortifications, this village was once well protected. As with most towns and villages around the lakes, they have a heritage steeped in religion. Churches and monuments abound and this region is no different. The Church of St. Giorgio in nearby Gottro, is well worth a visit just to see the Romanesque Bell Tower. Other churches to visit include St. Stefano which houses a famous organ made by the Serassi family in 1858. Serassi is one of the most famous families of organ builders in Italy and Europe and have been organ building art for six generations from 1720 to 1895 - their name is synonymous with quality, music, Lombardy and Porlezza!
Visit the small village of Castello, close to Loggio and Porlezza. Built on a rocky spur, it has a fascinating maze of stone houses, narrow streets and small flowering balconies everywhere you look - there is also a great view of the surrounding area & Lake Lugano to enjoy.
Take a boat trip around the lake and get a series of different perspectives from the upper deck of the romantic steamer boat which stops at the pretty towns like the idyllic Morcote and Gandria.Porlezza is just over the mountain from Menaggio on Lake Como and on the scenic route to Lugano. Porlezza is the main town at this end of the Lake and adds an Italian flavour to a well known Swiss name!
