Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Islington - Bramshill Gardens

3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home has just finished a no-expense spared renovation

Photo finish

Look the part strolling round your new Highgate haunt, with its proliferation of fine gastropubs, or take the kids over to Hampstead Heath's adventure playground. Enjoy a dip in the picturesque lido of Parliament Hill, before wandering down to the alt chic of Kentish Town, where bohemian hangouts abound.

Once you've adequately explored, head back to Bramshill Gardens, a glamorous three bedroom, two bathroom family townhouse on a picture-perfect period street. Strike a pose on the animal skin rug in the sitting room, or enjoy a glass of Chianti around the slick granite island in the contemporary kitchen. If it's raining, the pitter-patter on the glass roof creates an irresistible calm, and if the sun’s out, the sofa on the deck cries out to be lounged on.

Model citizens

Your hosts are an erstwhile supermodel from Norway and her music producer husband, whose sense of style oozes from the sophisticated home they share with their two young daughters. When they're not indulging in Highbury's rich restaurant culture, or playing the grand piano, they're off climbing and skiing around the world.

Beauty shots

Step into the huge, spot-lit sitting room and pull up a pew at the grand piano. Admire the vast collection of books lining one wall, and the enormous piece of modern art hanging by the mantle piece on the other. Step across the oak flooring and under the arches into the adjoining kitchen, an ultra-modern space overlooking the garden, bathed in natural light from a strip of skylights. Cherry pick something sweet from the massive chrome fridge, rustle up a treat on the granite work tops, and sup on the garden's decking furniture, or the lawn.

With your appetite appeased, wander up to the first floor single bedroom, which is pretty in pink and full of toys. The bed is a single but can be made in to a double, while an antique white wardrobe in the corner and a miniature piano lend the room a girlish playfulness. Next door the immaculate master suite slumbers, with its cappuccino colour palate and original fireplace. Plump up the pillows on the super-king bed or walk through the dressing room to relax in the spa style ensuite. The family bathroom across the hall is similarly high end. Ascend further to the second floor where a duck egg blue double bedroom and simple white cloakroom sit below the rafters.

Round the trend

With its elegant streets of period terraces, quaint cafes and the enchanting Highgate Cemetery, it's easy to see why the area's attracted the likes of The Rolling Stones, Queen, The Sex Pistols (who all recorded albums here) and Mr Bean. Strut your stuff in Hampstead Village and ogle the millionaire's mansions and upscale gift boutiques, or hop on the 390 bus and reach Oxford Street in just 20 minutes.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
