Tastefully furnished in attractive Mallorcan style, this villa has been brought up to date by the addition of modern kitchen and bathroom fittings. But, the 'pièce de resistance' for those who enjoy cooking over charcoal, a whole room is devoted to a large barbecue and traditional wood oven, whose oversized French doors open out to the garden.
A covered walkway connects the barbecue room to the immaculate L shaped kitchen/dining room. Nearby, a shady corner of the garden with table and chairs, provides an attractive dining spot. The comfortable living room is simply, but well furnished with leather club chairs and a squashy sofa arranged around a traditional wood burning stove and a prettily dressed table and chairs provide an alternative dining area. French doors open to the front terrace. An additional aid to sleeping, and worthy of note, are the mosquito nets at windows throughout the villa.
At first floor level, a second small sitting room has just stunning views over the tree tops towards the picturesque hill top town of Campanet and the Sierra Tramuntana Mountains beyond. A balcony also overlooks the pool and garden where a Mallorquin archway swathed with vines divides the garden flower beds from the small orchard area. Here, orange, almond and fig trees grow and a gateway opens to a further 12,000 hectares of orchards where you are welcome to wander. The raised pool is gated (deep: 1.10m. - 2.00m.)
The beaches at Puerto Pollenca, Alcudia and Cala San Vicent are 20 mins away by car, and excellent walking can be enjoyed both in the immediate area and the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains, just 15 mins drive away. There is easy access to Palma, by car or by train from the larger towns of Sa Pobla or Inca, neither more than a 10 mins car journey.
Son Serra is in an excellent position to explore the island from a quiet country location, or of course just to enjoy a quiet country location!
