James and Jo moved out of London in 2013 for a better lifestyle in this beautiful part of the world with more space for a young family to grow up in the green fields and clean air.

A great property with space in a location that balances the spectacular rural Cotswolds with ease of access to and from London and the South.

Peace, space and privacy ..... in comfort.

LOVELY RURAL RETREAT

  • 4 out of 5
Pleasant real English country setting--morning bird song and lots of walks. Deck and view of pond are wonderful. Modern facilities which work well--dishwasher, washing machine (no charge), showers. A freezer stocked with provisions for sale is a nice convenience. Great set up for flexible arrivals and departures. Nice to not have to be tied to a schedule for "check in". Depending on the composition of the group the design may be alittle awkward--only access to deck from house is through the downstairs bedroom; the upstairs (lots of space) is open to the downstairs (open stairwell); stairs and upstairs have lots of low ceilings (I had to duck and am 5' 6"). Be aware that you need to provide everything beyond towels and linens, e.g., soap, salt/pepper, toilet paper. However, the charge for the cottage reflects that these items aren't provided and is reasonable. Detailed information on grocery stores, places to eat provided which is wonderful. Owners are helpful and prompt in dealing with problems, e.g., no TV reception--with the World Cup on! I only missed a couple of minutes. Definitely recommend. Enjoyed my stay.

A BEAUTIFUL SETTING FOR A TRULY LOVELY COTTAGE

  • 5 out of 5
Nell House is set in a grounds that are exquisite complete with a small lake, ducks, moorhens, water lilies, a heron visitor and well kept lawns and flower beds. The cottage overlooks the lake and it is possible to sit on the deck at breakfast and contemplate the ducks! The cottage is lovely, with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable sofas and beds. We found it spotless, with lots of storage space for two. Everything worked!
James and Jo welcomed us most warmly and were helpful throughout the booking process and in accommodating our potentially odd arrival time.
The cottage is peaceful, with no traffic noise and the opportunity to sleep with open windows! It was perfect for us. We would recommend it for a romantic holiday, for a small family and for mature couples like us, seeking some R&R.
It is 5 star without a doubt - enjoy!

PEACEFUL HAVEN

  • 5 out of 5
Very clean, comfortable and tranquil. Friendly and helpful owners. Loved the moorhen and duck families on the pond and hope the heron doesn't cause too many problems. "Bare necessities" for sale from the freezer very useful. Many thanks for a relaxing visit.

The Cottage at Nell House is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds close to both Cirencester (the 'Capital of the Cotswolds') and the Cotswold Water Park.

Although situated in a picturesque quiet rural village, there are plenty of attractions only a short drive away.

The beautiful market town of Cirencester has lovely shops, restaurants, pubs and markets. There is also the Corinium Museum.

Fairford Royal International Air Tattoo is in July annually. It is a huge event and we are only a short drive or cycle away. As we are so close, you also get to see many of the planes without having to leave the garden!

Swindon Designer Outlet has a huge selection of designer shops and reduced prices. As it is inside it also makes an excellent rainy day excursion!

STEAM is situated next to the Designer Outlet and is a lovely museum detailing the history of the Great Western trains.

Westonbirt Arboretum has thousands of trees and some wonderful walks.

Lechlade-on-Thames has the unusual Christmas Shop, open most of the year, and the beautiful River Thames.

Stow-on-the-Wold is full of quaint tea shops and old pubs. There are lovely, individual shops there.

Birdland Park and Gardens is a good family trip. It is located in the picturesque town of Bourton-on-the-Water which is also home to a model village.

Cotswold Wildlife Park, near Burford, is a great day out. There is a brilliant giraffe house where you stand level with the animals' heads and can watch them eating.

The beautiful city of Bath with its wonderful architecture, Roman Baths, and fascinating shops is definitely worth a trip.

Chedworth Roman Villa has some beautifully preserved mosaics and is set in lovely countryside.

Burford town has some lovely old pubs, a beautiful river and shops.

Fairford is small but well worth a visit. It has a fantastic 15th Centuary church which is the only parish church in the country to have a complete set of late medieval glass.

The Living Rainforest is a lovely half-day trip. The variety of plants and birds is amazing and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Oxford is a busy, vibrant university town. Apart from the large selection of shops and restaurants there is the Ashmolean Museum, the Bodleian Library, Oxford Castle (ruins), the Radcliffe Camera, the Oxford University Press Museum, University of Oxford Botanic Garden, the various colleges and churches, University Museum of Natural History, and the Bridge of Sighs, to name but a few!

Bristol is about 1 hour away. It has a large, out of town shopping centre, Cribbs Causeway, as well as 'in town' shops like Cabot Circus. Bristol Zoo is another favourite trip out and houses some gorillas. @tBristol is a fantastic hands on science museum.

Cheltenham is home to horse racing, as well as being a beautiful regency town.

Golf courses are plentiful in the area. The nearest is Wragbarn, but slightly further afield are Bowood, Frilford Heath, and the Oxford Golf Club. There is an unusual golf course in Minchinhampton, where you have to play while avoiding the cattle who have the run of the course.
