Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Padstow - Brook Cottage
Sleeps 4, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom
In association with Trinity House, Rural Retreats is pleased to present Trevose Head Lighthouse. Trevose Head Lighthouse lies on a headland between the sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays, 4 miles west of Padstow. The Lighthouse was built in 1847, electrified in 1973 and automated in 1995.
The site, which is not open to the public, comprises 4 cottages, which are sheltered beneath a headland, 75' above the sea, each providing holiday accommodation for four guests. Access to Nimbus, Verity, Pelorus and Brook Cottages is via a one-mile-long private road.
The cottages are semi-detached with the lighthouse positioned in the middle. At the front there is a communal tarmac forecourt with parking. To the rear, on the sea side, there is a shared, walled, grass area which is fenced at the cliff edge. In the interest of safety, it is recommended that guests do not use this space.
2 travel cots and high chairs are available to share between the 4 cottages.
Access roads to some of the lighthouse sites are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.

Guestbook comments from the manager
We swam, we surfed, we are a lot! We saw the odd seal, lots of dolphins, clouds of butterflies, but the highlight was looking up from our tea on the terrace to see a peregrine falcon perched on the gate post 10 yards away - magical!
