Overview

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cabin in Asheville

Cabin, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

This is a 'Peace' of Cloud 9 Farm where the two of you will have secluded privacy and a hot tub facing the woods. Check out Cloud 9 Relaxation Home, too VRBO#34641 Both are on Cloud 9 Farm!

Close to the Biltmore Estate and Asheville (15 min. away), Heavenly Hideaway was created with romantic couples in mind...a 'peace of heaven' awaits you. It is a place to get away with privacy and adventure of the outdoors on Cloud 9 Farm. Yes, that's right, this cabin is on our Conservation Farm with the owner living amongst this 200 acres...mostly woods but a valley to see our cows, swimming hole, chickens and U-Pick blueberries. You are half way up the hill top in the woods.

Everything you need is in this cozy, 750 square foot cabin with cathedral ceilings plus a full length deck that leads to an under-the-stars hot tub. Wireless internet, HGTV and Blue Ray.

All is on one level, with one easy step inside from driveway door. 15 foot high cathedral ceilings, unique hand-carved timbers (find the massive hand-chiseled dove-tail), mountain laurel accents and specially milled red oak-paneled walls, surround you in luxurious cabin-style that smells of wood. Enjoy air conditioning or the cool mountain breezes that Blue Ridge Mountains can brag about in the heat of summer. Groceries are just 3.5 miles away as well as a cute 'Local Joint Cafe' for meals. Request a breakfast layout or stocking of the fridge for a small fee. Fresh, farm eggs come with every rental when the hens are laying.

Entering this 200 acres of invitation-only private estate, you will feel transported back in time, the way life should be. There are so many trails to explore, you could be entertained here without having to leave! 'Cocoon' right here ... tilt all the way back in the leather sofa in front of the big screen TV/fireplace. Bedroom and bath are separate rooms in this 750 sq ft cabin.

Need more room? Check out Cloud 9 Relaxation Home farther up the hill for 2 to 6 people. see VRBO #34641

The Grove Park Inn, Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway are an easy daytime jaunt. Plus, lots of eclectic restaurants with fresh, locally grown food are here in Asheville. We have a list of favorites in the notebook on the desk.

Hike safe trails through the Cloud 9 woods, mountain bike, fish or swim in Peterson pond, pick blueberries on our U-Pick farm in season, watch cows lazily grazing in green valley pastures, feed the chickens, kick a few rocks down the road... just come!

About Janet Peterson

Janet, here, your hostess at Cloud 9 Properties, LLC. You'll find me in the Blueberry Patch most of the time, because in July we have a U-Pick farm but the rest of the time I'm tending the plants. Our sing-a-long jingle on Cloud 9 Farm is 'Beds, Berries, Trees, Beef and Honey Bees' I guess you're most interested in the 'Beds' part, but the cows, chickens, pollination honey bees, and forestry management you might want to tour because it all makes Heavenly Hideaway a unique place. I live on the farm, too.

Janet Peterson purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Janet Peterson chose Asheville

My family home, Cloud 9 Relaxation Home, a ranch style home over-looking the Blue Ridge Mountain valleys of Fairview, just 15 miles SE of Asheville, NC has been completely updated and is the premier hilltop location for views and gatherings up to 8 people. But the cozy cabin, Heavenly Hideaway, in the woods, with a hot tub off the main driveway is where you want to be for a private couples get-away.

What makes this cabin unique

Besides the fun of watching the sun rise or early morning hikes on Cloud 9 Farm where you can hear the cows crunching on the lush grass in the pasture, see wood ducks or a blue heron fly in to investigate Peterson pond or hike the mountain trails...besides all that, in 15 minutes you can be on the Biltmore Estate or in downtown Asheville going to an eclectic local foods restaurant or get to Chimney Rock Park and Lake Lure for the afternoon. I recommend the scenic boat ride/dinner tour. In Asheville, you must see the Grove Park Inn and Spa for a lunch on Sunset Terrace or splurge on the spa. (But I do know some day spas, too, just ask.) Waterfalls? Ah, yes, just 40 min. on the Blue Ridge Parkway...Looking Glass Falls, but Dupont state park has 4 unique falls for a great day trip. And don't forget Sliding Rock, bring your oldest cut-off jeans to wear splashing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband and I spent our 10th anniversary at Heavenly Hideaway Cabin. It was our fourth time staying. It is consistently clean and well stocked. Owner very hospitable. Eggs are delicious. Very private. Quick drive to the bars and restaurants. Plus the owner gives us a discount for a return visit. We love the property!

Mountainside Retreat

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to get away from it all! So nice to see the stars at night, listen to the wildlife and take in the beauty at Cloud Nine Farm. The Heavenly Hideaway cabin is NOT roughing it at all- beautiful woodwork, all the "techie" amenities you think you need like a flat screen TV and wifi (but will realize you don't), great hot tub, gourmet style kitchen, amazing views on the property, a chance to interact with the chickens (fresh eggs for breakfast!). Easy drive into Asheville, the Biltmore and other surrounding sights. Janet (proprietor) was so nice and helpful and had great recommendations for local eateries and sights. We will definitely be coming back!!

Owner's Response: You know when we first researched cabins to build we thought the "roughing it" off-the-grid experience would be what people would want in the woods, but then...we decided to let you pretend all that and give you the luxury-in-the-woods experience instead. Ha!

Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed at Heavenly Hideaway for the long Easter weekend and brought our dog. The property is beautiful and the cabin was so nice. It was exactly the getaway we were looking for. The deck has a great view with a grill and hot tub under the stars. We spent the nights grilling out and relaxing. We would definitely come back to this cabin next time we're in Asheville!

Owner's Response: Glad you liked the deck because half the fun of being out on it at night are the little lamp lights on a string that illuminate the whole deck. Let's be clear, the view from the deck is of deep woods with an enticing trail that you notice first thing. If you lean over the deck railing, out from under the roof, you will see our mountain that we want you to explore with champions making it to the top to sign the guestbook in the mailbox!

Birthday Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 4 days at Heavenly Hideaway. We were in need of peace and quiet for our birthdays and that's exactly what we got! The cabin was perfect, so clean and stocked with everything we could need. We loved the fireplace and the hot tub was a real treat for my tired legs after hiking Buzzard's Roost. We may have gone up the steep way. :)

Helping Janet feed the chickens and gather eggs was so much fun, and we learned a lot about chicken breeds too. We fed the cows apples and hiked other trails all on the same lovely property. The views were amazing and the farm life was lovely. We hope to come back in the summer months to see everything lush and green, and to pick our own blueberries. We even saw the elusive white squirrel, twice, but we weren't quick enough with our camera.

Thank you so much for helping us have an amazing birthday and get away from everything for while. We will be back!

Owner's Response: You saw the elusive white squirrel? Free jar of Cloud 9 Raspberry Jam to any vacationer that can capture that image and post it on our facebook page! Heavenly Hideaway IS a great birthday place AND returning visitors are so welcome.

Swept Away at Heavenly Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 4 beautiful days at Heavenly Hideaway. Not only was the cabin perfectly stocked with everything you'd need for a weekend away, the property was breathtaking. Feeding the cows and visiting the chickens was a real treat. We played horseshoes and hiked to Buzzard's Roost - all on the property! The hot tub was perfectly clean and fantastic for relaxing under the stars after a day of hiking. We look forward to our next visit to Heavenly Hideaway. A true retreat!

Owner's Response: Thanks for saying how clean the hot tub was. We pride ourselves on that. Whether you want to enjoy our 200 acres like this couple did or just cocoon...we've got the place!

Rest and Relaxation

Thank you so much for such a special weekend! My husband and I had such a relaxing time and definitely plan on coming back. Great location. We enjoyed sledding, feeding the cows, and walking the trails. We loved relaxing and watching the stars from the hot tub so much that we decided to skip going out down town. A gem for sure- thank you again for a wonderful mini-vacation.

Owner's Response: So, Saturday night date night was spent at Cloud 9 bonfire ring making s'mores? You are our kind of renter...taking in the night beauty of the sights and sounds of the farm, especially the crackling wood!

Owner's Response: I know you didn't think about sledding until we suggested a great run in the cow-free pasture, down a hill. Vacationers can borrow anything their heart's desire (that we have) including sleds!
