Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday villa in Las Terrenas - Casa Akwaba, Las Terrenas
This house gives you the impression of being at the bow of a ship!
Akwaba is a beautiful modern villa (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms-look at the photos for details), perched at the top of the Lomita Maravilla hill, in the centre of Las Terrenas. It offers an amazing 180 ° view of the blue Caribbean Sea and the horizon from East to West as well as the village below as well and the coast!
From the pool deck in the large terrace, you can see the sunrise and the sunset, as well as the permanent show that is the view all day long…The sea with its boats, the wings of the kites, the changes of shades in the water, the change of the appearance from smooth as a mirror to woolly when the winds blow…in the sky you will see the beautiful white clouds and incredible reliefs, you can also see the flight of the beautiful birds which I believe are a species of raptors, taking the advantage of the breeze to rise and give its viewers a lesson on how to fly!...and you will hear the breeze and the pleasant murmur of the village below you.
Just above the city centre, this is a 220m2 villa with a 400m2 garden and a 180m2 deck with a pool.
Personally, I feel as if I were at the deck of a boat, like a cruise! This is a one-storey villa with three bedrooms (queen or king size) and two bathrooms. The master bedroom occupies the first floor with its own bathroom (toilet included), dressing area, 30m2 terrace with views of the sea and the horizon as well as the sunrise to the east if you like waking up early.
The other two bedrooms are on the ground floor, each with a bay window that allows direct access to the pool deck. They also have sea views. The dining room, lounge and kitchen also have direct access to the pool and the deck, as well as a view of the blue sea and the horizon.
All the rooms on the ground floor have windows that provide plenty of natural light and give you the opportunity to experience an “open” environment with direct access to the pool and the deck.
Meals can be taken inside or on the deck where you can find the shaded dining area, ventilated by a ceiling fan.
The house is fully equipped for 2 to 6 people.
The maximum allowed is 6 people.
This house is not recommended for families with small children (approx. Less than 7 years of age), due to the terrace on the first floor, the deck of the pool, which is on stilts, and the pool, which is not fenced. Please see the photos.
The house is powered by solar energy during the day (and electricity from the city during the night), running water from a borehole and the wastewater goes into a septic tank.

About Sophie and Lionel (owners-living in Congo) or Karim/Thomas (Las Terrenas)
Life is very quiet at Las Terrenas, you can practice a lot of water sports (skiing, surfing, diving, kite…)!
We also love the food; with such a choice of restaurants the chances are great!
Why Sophie and Lionel (owners-living in Congo) or Karim/Thomas (Las Terrenas) chose Las Terrenas
The location at the top of a hill is enchanting, we have a 180 ° view of the surrounding land, with the advantages of being in the centre of the village without its disadvantages (the noisy cars, the hustle and bustle) and with the beach very close!
What makes this villa unique
The sensation of being in a boat is very strong, the deck is like the bow of a ship and the sea is all around you!
The house is very bright because of all the windows and bay windows.
You can also have the pleasure of seeing the birds flying around the house. Since the house is high you can see them from up-close…I’d never thought I will be so amazed at that.
