Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in West Village - Hammond Place
1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Clectic Home Is Beautifully Curated
Set at an angle to the rest of Manhattan, the West Village redefines the map. But don’t fold yours away just yet. Dotted with finds from distant shores, Hammond Place is a home with wingspan: turn one way and you’re in Morocco, the other and you find yourself in Vietnam and Cambodia – all without stirring from your green velvet couch. Ikat weaves give way to antique Berber doors, while dark wood accents are brightened by white walls, marble candles and vibrant cushions. And if all that travelling leaves you famished, do give the quaint cafés and eclectic restaurants outside a try.
A professional in the travel industry, your host has roamed far and near, with the souvenirs to show it. Having explored the world, she returned to New York to seek her dream job – and found it.
Tread across the sitting room’s wooden floorboards and look closer at its treasures. A storied chest acts as a coffee table, while marble candlesticks and colourful cushions glow under a row of modern spotlights. Twist your steps to the white, well-furnished kitchen before sitting down to dinner beneath the antique Moroccan door. Wandering eyes will discover the bathroom’s crisp white panels or the gorgeous textiles in the bedroom. But before you slip into the queen-size bed, do gaze on the beautiful cream Victorian armoire for a moment or two.

About Owner / Property Manager
onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.
Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.
Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.
Why Owner / Property Manager chose West Village
With a lush Bohemian verve that ranks it among the most sought-after spots in the City, the West Village needs no introduction. From juice bars and cupcakes to brownstones and cobblestones, it’s an inviting slice of all things happening and sweet, a sunny Saturday-style playground every day of the week.
If you’re looking for history, the West Village has its share of tales to tell: trail the ghosts of Jack Kerouac, Jackson Pollock and Dylan Thomas, or pay respects at the site of the Stonewall riots, where the gay rights movement got its start.
It’s also the place where upscale design houses gather in close along quiet streets in a way that rivals Fifth Avenue - and beats it hands-down for charm.
For eats and treats, visit sweets mecca Magnolia Cupcakes or stop for coffee at prime people-watching spot Café Angelique. Then plan on dinner at The Spotted Pig - you’ll know it by its unmistakably riotous potted garden out front - or the masterfully fresh farm-to-table restaurant Blue Hill. Then be sure to stroll the neighbourhood’s western stretches for fresh air off the Hudson River, and don’t miss the High Line Park, the reclaimed railroad tracks high above the Meatpacking District that burst with carefully crafted gardenscapes.
Just do remember that the West Village is set apart by more than just charm and price point: wandering into the neighbourhood is to venture off the Manhattan grid. Though no more than a quarter turn off kilter, it has a way of leaving visitors - and locals - surprisingly dizzied. Embrace the inevitable and plan to lose yourself along its leafy side streets, just make sure you leave a little extra time to get where you’re going.
