Magical, Magnificent Mews
My husband and I spent a week in Dublin, in October while visiting our daughter at Trinity College. This pristine apartment could not have been better located for walking and exploring all of central Dublin. The property has been restored beautifully and is in excellent condition. The furnishings are lovely, the beds extremely comfortable and the back garden area is exquisite. We prepared and ate several meals in as the kitchen was very well equipped and the dining/living area most comfortable and inviting. There is a Tesco and Spar a short walk for staples and quick groceries and my favorite, Fallon and Byrnes is in Temple Bar.
After a day of exploring, Chez Jay was an oasis of calm to return to. It was very peaceful and quiet at night. Isabel's is a charming restaurant with delicious food just steps away. There are also many other options for dining in the area, from pubs to Michilen starred eateries. Be sure to request the owner's thoughtful list of recommendations in the area. They are too numerous to mention, and will not disappoint.
We used Paul as a driver for our runs to and from the airport as well as a day trip to Kilkenny, the best preserved midevil city in Ireland, and other trips to the outskirts of the city. He is a lovely and knowledgeable man who provided us with many historical facts and a wonderful Irish sense of humor. We highly recommend using him. His van can hold eight people if you are in a larger group.
The listing and photos very accurately represent this special rental. Although I do think it looks larger in person. We have rented many properties around the world, and always had a recommendation of something that could have been improved. Not so with Chez Jay. I highly recommend this jewel of a mews for your visit to Dublin.
