Everybody who stays loves it!
I am a New Zealander but have lived these past 45 years in the U.K and France.
Helen McLean purchased this apartment in 2005
We love it's light, airy, spacious dimensions and the Port view is a constant delight.
The Port is a hub of interesting activity.... It's like a small village with everything conveniently close by.
I love the wide variety of cafes and restaurants.... Wonderful Patisseries and delicatessens. Small local shops with fresh produce as well as super markets.
Well located and beautifully spacious and airy. Yes, I did get to relax! We traveled to Italy and spent more time in Menton this trip. Thank you also for your recommendations the Patesserie was brilliant (a life saver) and the italian restaurant a wonderful surprise, the food was truely amazing.
All the best and good luck for 2009. I will definitely be intouch when we visit again.
Take care. Kind Regards Lorraine
We stayed in this apartment in April 2015 as a group of 10 family and friends for a long 4 day weekend. It was awful, smelly and cluttered. The en suite bathrooms were more like wet rooms within the 2 bedrooms, and 1 did not work but smelt when the other was used.
Helen was communicative and responsive to emails regarding this apartment prior to booking. Once the deposit was paid, she became less so. She asked us to call her once we landed then did not respond. Upon arrival at the apartment, which is also her home, she was still in the midst of cleaning, She was rude and shouted down the stairwell at us to be quiet. Not a nice way to be greeted on arrival at your holiday destination. She gave us no tourist information, no maps and little local information. The apartment is cluttered, She explained the house rules and kept apologising for 'being a grumpy old women' but did not stop moaning and snapping at us. She was rude in responding to our questions regarding the buses, checkout, wifi etc, she couldn't really be bothered.
On our last day she arranged to meet us at lunchtime, then did not show up. We left our luggage in one room as agreed and left for the afternoon as we had a late flight home. On our return she made no conversation about our holiday in France, or whether we had found what we needed. Instead she told us to take the rubbish when we took our bags!! She then stuck her head out of the window to shout at us as we were leaving.
We had a great time in the south of France, but Helens attitude and rudeness has left a sour taste. We would not recommend you book this apartment. She does not deserve your custom. I would give zero stars if I could.
Myself and 6 friends travelled to Nice for a long weekend. We had a great time. A fantastic place with something for everyone - from the old town full of cosy streets and shops, to the modern New town with all the latest designer boutiques. Catching the bus (98) to the apartment from the airport was easy and cheap: The owner was there to meet me, and the apartment was just as described; light, airy and very well equiped. Great restaurants and bars around almost every corner, and i would recommend the short train journey to Monaco (30mis). We found a great italian restaurant only 100m from the palace. Highly recommended for all groups:) Thanks so much Helen..

We stayed here over the Easter holidays. There were eight of us, four couples, and the apartment was perfect for us. It was spacious and airy, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Helen met us on arrival and pointed us in the right direction for lunch!
As the other reviews mention the area is lovely. The Boulanger next door and the Sicilian restaurant across the street are both superb. There are also lots of restaurants and supermarkets near by. You can see the port from the sitting room windows, and the apartment is only a short distance to Place Garibaldi.
Looking for an excuse to return already ...
Enjoyed a very nice weeks holiday in this spacious, clean and well presented apartment close to the harbour. The apartment was as described in the write up and we were met on arrival by the owner who explained the facilities and answered our questions. The promenade and the Vibrant Old District of Nice with its restaurants and markets were only a short walk away. The nearby railway station allowed us to visit Monaco and other nearby coastal villages. Overall we had an excellent week's holiday.
Our apartment is located in the very picturesque harbor of Nice an easy walk from the lively Old Town, the Promenade des Anglais, the Museum of Modern Art, the Chateau and the parks and beaches. You will find yourself spoil for choice when looking for restaurants or cafes in the streets around us. Our local bakeries, green grocers, wine shops, delicatessens and butchers, are friendly and happy to help and advise you about the best combinations of food and drink. You can easily explore further afield, even without a car as buses and taxis stop at the port, and the main coach and train stations are just a short walk from us.
You can get to Cannes and Monaco in 30 to 45 minutes by train and have lunch in Italy in an hour or overlooking the ski slopes in the mountains just 30mins drive away. Ferries leave the port several times a day for Corsica, Sardinia, St Tropez or the 'Iles de Lerins' (two islands just off Cannes) and fares are reasonable.
