Overview

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday villa in Alberobello - Trullo Isabella

Trullo In The Countryside, On The Top Of The Hill With A Panoramic View

With panoramic views over the beautiful Puglian countryside, newly restored Trullo Isabella is the perfect location for a romantic holiday for honeymooners or two couples as its flexible sleeping can easily accommodate four people.

Although in a very rural peaceful location the trullo is between the two historic towns of Martina Franca, about 5km and fascinating Alberobello with its 1500 trulli clustered together, about 7km away.

The 300 year old trullo has been sympathetically restored to a very high standard. The main cone accommodates the living area which includes a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher, lounge area with sprung sofa bed and dining area with table and seating for four. A door leads onto the terrace.

In the smaller cone is the spacious bedroom which has a king size bed and ample storage. A door leads onto the terrace.

There is a shower room with toilet and wash hand basin which is accessible from both cones.

The property sits in two acres of grounds filled with wild flowers. This is surrounded by farmland dotted with trulli, many still not restored. There is a 5 meter pool overlooking the valley perfect for cooling off in the hot Italian summers, an excellent BBQ area with a outdoor gas burner. A dining table and chairs perfect for al fesco dining under a shady gazebo and sunbathing terrace with comfortable sun loungers and delightful rock garden all around. Trullo Isabella is the perfect place for relaxing and spending quality time with family and friends in a tranquil location.

The property is very well cared for by Chris & Alison who meet all guests on arrival in alberobello and accompany them to the property.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had never been to Trullo Isabella in December so we decided to go over the New Year period and experience the firework spectacle on New Years Eve. What we hadn't accounted for was the snow. Overnight we had over two foot, which turned the landscape into a winter wonderland. Everything looked so beautiful and with the sun out and a cloudless blue sky we spent many hours outside, making a snowman, snow angels, walking the lanes and having snowball fights. The Prosecco was literally on ice, we stuck the bottle in the snow!

Back indoors we were cosy and spent the evenings watching DVDs, listening to music and reading our books. On New Years Eve we ventured outside onto the terrace and witnessed the three local towns pyrotechnics. The sky was illuminated and the snow on the ground enhanced the celebrations. It certainly lived up to its reputation.

The area hadn't seen this amount of snow for 27 years, normally if it does snow it's a couple of inches and gone within a day or two. The day we returned home, 3rd January, the temperature went up to 16 degrees and we were tempted to have a bbq.

We sincerely hope that our 2015 guests enjoy their stay at Isabella as much as we just have.

A unique holiday experience

  • 5 of 5

My self and girlfriend stayed at the property last July , neither of us had travelled to Italy before so it was a first for us . Easy flight into Bari and picked up a hire car on site , after the initial panic driving out into the italian traffic with the aid of a sat nav it was easy to travel to the truro . The Truro itself was just wow a totally unique experience , very very quiet but not to remote although the bumpy tracks and over grown hedges on route to the property certainly made you feel you were some where special . Just chilling round the pool was great but everything around was a must see , the markets in the towns were amazing ,bargains and each stall individual definitely worth getting up a little early for . Although visiting all the nearby towns , the town of Martina Franca was our favourite , rather boringly we ate there most evenings finding the best little restaurant directly outside the steps of the church by the artists display , family run white exterior (forgotten the name ,sorry) . Just wondering around with the locals ,listening to the bells ringing from the church services going on around the town every night hidden up all the little alley ways . During our time there we attended an amazing catholic mass in the square truly magical , and we were lucky enough to be there whilst a small festival was being held and went to an open air opera also a first . All in all the time spent at the truro and the surrounding area was a great experience , totally unspoilt by tourism as yet , safe , and not expensive - LOVED IT …..

Island of Tranquility Style

  • 5 of 5

This was our first holiday in a trullo and it won't be our last. The location, the layout, the standard of accommodation and the service provided all contributed to a most enjoyable week in Puglia.

Everything went like clockwork - good and regular communication beforehand from Jan. Grahame and Hayley looked after us superbly while we were there - Hayley especially using her initiative to resolve a wifi problem beforehand and responding to requests efficiently.

Given the opportunity, we would certainly come back to this property and also heartily recommend Trulloholidays

Fantastic property & location best holiday ever

  • 5 of 5

The photos on the website don't do the trullo justice, the attention to detail & high quality finish provided for the guests is second to none. We have stayed in many private villas but this has to be our best experience yet, we are already planning a return trip to Trullo Isabella.

Inside everything is beautifully coordinated to complement the rich cream stone, the Bose equipment & a vast library of DVDs kept us entertained during the cooler evenings.

Although we were a little nervous about a European location during October we had temperatures of 25 + which allowed us to BBQ & have trips to the beach. Pool although a bit of dare to get into considering the time of year, once in was great. The solar heating helped!

Restaurants are in abundance & the food was just what you would expect from Italy "molto bene".

Our favourite activity like many others was sitting on the terrace with a glass or two of Prosecco looking at the stunning vista, if you are lucky like us watching the fireworks at Locorotondo from Isabella's terrace was a unforgettable experience.

Matara is a must, an unforgettable trip, the zoo safari was great & so were many of the local beautiful towns.

Our booking experience with Jan's helpful advice, the local agents tips, the peaceful & stunning location & as mentioned the fantastic trullo finished to a very high standard inside & out all led to a wonderful holiday.

We look forward to returning very soon.

Owner's Response: We are so pleased you had such an enjoyable late season holiday. The weather in Puglia in October is usually still very pleasant with warm sunny days so perfect for exploring the local area and al fresco dining. We have just returned after a week early in November and we were drinking morning coffee and dining on the terrace at lunchtime, wonderful. We look forward to seeing you again.

Beautifully restored trullo in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

Trullo Isabella is the prefect place for a relaxing break. The trullo has been restored to a very high standard and is equipped with all the home comforts and more. Apple TV and a Bose sound system were a very pleasant surprise. The outside space is full of flowers and the pool was very welcoming in the unexpected highs of 25 plus degrees. The BBQ area was great with its out sink and calor gas stove. We loved wondering the lanes, the local towns of Martina Franca, Locorontondo and Alberobello were great to explore. Matera was an amazing day out, not to be missed. We also went to the Nature Reserve at Torre Canne and saw heron, kingfisher, reed warbler, even a white stork and an osprey. Jan at Trullo Holidays was extremely helpful when booking and Graham the local agent was knowledgable and pointed us in the right direction for supermarkets and restaurants, all serving fantastic meals. The only down side of our week was coming home.........thank you for sharing your lovely piece of paradise

A perfect week in a beautiful and relaxing trullo.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, spent an absolutely wonderful relaxing week at Trullo Isabella during May 2014. The decor is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures, and the trullo includes every amenity one could need for a comfortable visit. The trullo has been beautifully restored and thoughtful landscaping provides multiple sitting areas from which to enjoy the view. The location is rural but only a short drive to Martina Franca, Alberobello, and Locorotondo. The owners even provide a GPS to help navigate the winding country roads. The house was spotlessly clean, there was great communication and customer service by the owners' representative, and we would happily stay there again. One note regarding the size: the sleep sofa is in the living room which was fine for our family arrangement. Two unrelated couples would probably want to rent a slightly larger unit. Overall, we had a fantastic week and I highly recommend the property.
