3 bedrooms (2 with kingsize), 2 bathrooms, spacious and beautifully furnished

Here is the perfect apartment, right in the centre, offering a high standard of comfort in a stylish, attractive interior. If you are looking for an interesting place to stay, which has character and space, and which is extremely well equipped, then this is for you.

We have just refurbished it and started renting, so we don't have many reviews, but we have deliberately set the price very low in order to fill our early dates. So you can see it offers excellent value for money, especially if you are a large group.

Our apartment oozes with history and character. It is located in one of London's historic 'mews' streets, where the horse-drawn carriages of the wealthy Bloomsbury intellectuals would draw up. Charles Dickens lived just around the corner.

The mews still has the original cobblestones while the properties along its length are built from the mellow London brick, characteristic of the 1800's. You can easily imagine yourself living in a wealthy neighbourhood from a Dickens novel. Not surprisingly these houses and flats are now highly desirable residences, with potted plants on the cobbles outside the doors and pretty flowering window-boxes in the summer. Our apartment is on the first floor of one of these very attractive 200-year-old buildings. Because this is a mews, there is no through-traffic, so our apartment is amazingly peaceful and quiet for a residence in the very centre of London.

The interior has been completely refurbished to a very high specification We have a beautiful original oak floor throughout, with attractive beds, high quality mattresses, and lovely furnishings and bedding. Our traditional sash windows (typical of London) let in loads of light and add to the character of the apartment. Yet all the facilities are updated and modern, with excellent showers in the two bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen.

All three bedrooms, the bathrooms and the sitting room are spacious as you can see in the pictures (we don't need to use a wide-angle lens!)

Best of all, our apartment is just two minutes away (really) from the Tube station at Russell Square - and that's on the direct Tube line from Heathrow. So if you are arriving at Heathrow you can quickly reach your accommodation without having to change trains or heave your luggage around. A real bonus!

The apartment is also very convenient for arrivals at St Pancras train station. Our Tube station at Russell Square is just one stop away from St Pancras (for the Eurostar trains to Europe), or it's a very easy walk from St Pancras to the apartment down a straight road.

Bloomsbury is also the perfect central area from which to explore London. Please do Google it. You can easily walk to so many tourist sights, and because the Tube station is so close it's really convenient. Our apartment is particularly close to Covent Garden (for the shops and restaurants) and to Theatreland if you fancy a London show. The British Museum is just a short walk. Nowhere is far away, so even if you take a taxi back it will be a short journey and therefore it will not be expensive.

The apartment has three full-size double bedrooms, which altogether provide two kingsize beds plus a double bed...or one of the kingsize beds can be arranged as two singles. All the beds have high-quality mattresses, comforters and linens so that you really feel you're staying in a good hotel. All the rooms are of a similar standard, and have about the same space, so if you are all adults, eg three couples, no one will feel they have 'pulled the short straw' !

There are two good shower rooms, each with a shower cubicle, sink, mirrored toiletries cupboard and WC. We provide clothes airers and we will give you plenty of soft egyptian cotton towels,

There is a lovely sitting room with plenty of sofa space, large coffee table, dining table big enough for 8, satellite TV, and superfast wifi which is free.

The kitchen is just off the sitting room, offering all you would need for self-catering.... a hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine/dryer, toaster and kettle. We have provided lovely glassware and attractive white crockery.

The flat is well heated with gas central heating.

The character of the accommodation is really highlighted by the lovely old oak flooring throughout, which gives a warm homely feel.

The apartment is on the first floor. It has its own front door at street level, leading to stairs (about 12) up to the first floor, and then another door into the sitting room, making it very safe. The whole apartment is on the same level.

Best of all the location of the apartment is hard to beat. It really is right in the heart of the centre of London, so you can walk to most of the places you'll want to visit, and you are surrounded by an area filled with interesting cafe's and restaurants.

The other big difference between our apartment and many others are the personal touches we offer. We are not a rental company, just an English couple who adore London and enjoy introducing others to all it has to offer. We have lovingly furnished and decorated the apartment to this very high standard because we really want our guests to have a fantastic time - happy guests mean more to us than high profits. So unlike some apartments, you will not find cheap beds, cheap mattresses, hard pillows...or any of the other horrors you can find with the squeeze-every-penny-of-profit apartment rental companies. We pride ourselves on giving a very friendly, helpful and professional service. We want you to feel you made exactly the right choice!

Overall we are happy to offer you a lovely, spacious three-bedroom apartment, on the first floor, and in a fantastic location, which is ideal for visitors to London who want to be able to walk to most of the tourist sights and activities. Hello. I'm really pleased you like the look of my apartment enough to want to know about the owner. Until recently, I have had a really busy life as the MD of a research company, but now I just do occasional research projects and spend the rest of the time looking after this apartment and its guests. I absolutely love it !

I have always been a bit pernickety about detail. At home I'm one of those people who arranges the glassware in neat rows, shines the cooker every time it has been used, and has to place the cushions in exactly the right place on the sofa - you know the sort! So I think I'm quite well qualified to run a rental like this.

My philosophy is not to squeeze every last drop of profit out of running the apartment, but rather to get satisfaction from seeing people arrive and like what they see, and then at the end to hear how comfortable they have been and what a great time they've had. That is so much more pleasurable than a few extra pounds in the bank.

So I do hope I get the chance to meet you...

I looked at loads of properties in London before I saw this one, but the minute I stepped inside I knew this was absolutely right. It's bright and airy, really well laid out, with loads of space. Above all, it has a lovely feeling of character and cosiness.

The location couldn't be better....

* it's truly right in the centre of London, near to just about everything

* The Tube station is right around the corner, no more than a 2 minute walk

* It's on the Piccadilly line, so you can travel in directly from Heathrow, without any changes, and be at the apartment very quickly

* St Pancras train station (for trains to Europe) is just up the road, either a walk or one stop on the Tube

* It's in a quiet cobbled mews with a real historic feel

* There is a shopping centre round the corner, with two good supermarkets plus lots of cafe's and restaurants

* London's best restaurant districts - Lambs Conduit St and Covent Garden - are really close

* Theatreland is really close

* It has three good bedrooms of roughly equal size, so no one pulls the 'short straw'

Lovely appartment in great location.

We had a very lovely stay in this apartment and highly recommend it. The apartment is particularly comfortable and the furnishings very tasteful and the owners have obviously made a great effort to do things well.
We liked the cobbled "mews" street outside which gives you a real historical feeling of what London used to be like.
If you have never stayed in London before be aware it's huge and lots of places claim to be "central" but in fact often involve long rides on the Tube trains. But this apartment is in Bloomsbury which is genuinely in the heart of London, so we were able to walk to just about everywhere. As a tip it's a good idea to use the "map" function on HomeAway to compare the locations of apartments.
But this one is a gem, and if you book I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Perfect for a stay in London!

This charming flat was perfect for a Mom and Daughter trip to London. We were a group of 3 Moms and 3 teen-aged girls celebrating birthdays. The 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths were just what we needed. There was plenty of space and we could all sit together at the end of the day and watch television or use the WiFi.
The location in the quiet Mews close (3 minute walk) to shopping, restaurants, coffee shops and the underground/Russell Square Station made everything fall in place. We even walked to King's Cross (Harry Potter fans) in under 20 minutes and took a short tube ride to see Arsenal play at Emirates.
Jan was full of information and always answered our questions promptly. She also was great about making arrangements for our late night check in.
We had a wonderful time and would definitely love to stay at this flat again! Highly recommended. Thank you, Jan!

Perfect space for a group vacation to London!

A graduate-school reunion for 5 best friends in our early 30's brought us to London, and we knew quickly that renting a flat would be one of the better decisions. This flat was a fantastic space for us. 2 blocks off the Russell square tube stop, it's a straight shot from Heathrow without a transfer needed, and there are grocery stores and drug stores within 2-blocks walking distance, making it extremely easy to stock up on provisions and supplies. A pub at the corner was frequently our last stop before getting a good night's rest.

The flat was a perfect size. The wifi was easy to access, and the TV in the living room had cable so we could stay on top of events on the news or relax. The heating system was quick and responsive (it gets cold in December) and having two bathrooms was a God-send. Spacious closets in the bedrooms and lots of hangers! Everything was spotless and clean, beds were comfortable and bedding was substantial.

The kitchen was a good size and appointed with everything needed to cook simple snacks to multi-course meals. We ate breakfast every morning at the flat, giving us a good start to the day and saving a good amount of money from having to eat out every meal.

The neighborhood was perfect - a good mix of business, commerce and tourist spots. The British Museum was only a 10-minute walk away. There is a University adjacent as well, so lots of younger people in the area too.

Mike and Jan were very responsive hosts, checking in on us throughout our 5-day stay, ensuring we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this flat without hesitation if this is the amount of space you need - you can't go wrong with the location and hospitality. Comfortable, spacious, excellent location

What a fantastic location! The tube from Heathrow was very easy with no changes required. The Russell Square station is a 3 minute walk from the apartment. Jan and Sue had made arrangements for us to check in early. It was very convenient to drop our luggage and then go out for a bit. Jan met us and went over the details and then we headed out to Waitrose (which is also only a 3 minutes walk) to buy a few staples.

The apartment was bright with big windows and beautiful wood floors facing the cobblestone mews. The bedrooms were a good size and the bedding/linens were excellent. We liked the ability to turn the radiator heat on/off as needed per room. Windows are also easily opened if needed.

The kitchen had all the conveniences. I especially enjoyed the french press and cafetiere for coffee as I am an early riser and made several pots per day. We enjoyed breakfast in the apartment before going out sightseeing for the day.

The tube was very close as well as the endless buses. We bought a tube/bus pass and the central location was great for quick 2-3 hour trips and then back to the apartment to regroup with a glass of wine and plan another outing. Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Holborn, British Museum and King's Cross/St. Pancras were all within an easy walk. Brunswick Centre is very close and has nice shops and restaurants including a handy drugstore. Also don't miss the open air market on Saturdays with all the local restaurants selling food out of tent stalls.

Overall I'd highly recommend this apartment based on location alone - but that coupled with its comfort, space and modern conveniences make it far superior to a hotel. That combined with the quick responsiveness and friendliness of Jan, Sue and Shana made it a really memorable vacation.

Spacious, lots of character and amazing location!

I don’t normally write reviews but I felt like I struck gold when I found this one so I simply had to!

My husband and I booked this for us and our three children at the last minute to break up our journey from Dubai to Paris. Being a last minute trip we felt a little unorganised, but Jan, the owner, couldn’t have been more helpful. She met us when we arrived at the apartment, answered all our questions and showed us the best routes to the main tourist spots; Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, which we could easily walk to. Without her I’m not sure we could have organised ourselves to fit everything in.

The apartment itself was very homely and much bigger than we were expecting. With three children we expected it to be a bit of a squeeze but it certainly wasn't, we could really spread out. It was bright and airy with big windows overlooking the pretty mews, the beds were so comfy and the bedding was luxurious (I want it in my house please!), what’s more it had superfast Wi-Fi which was a huge bonus for my husband. We felt like we were in our own private 5* hotel!

The location of this apartment couldn’t be better, simply incredible value for money. It is right in the center of London yet it's on a street which is very quiet, amazing given that we were right in the middle of London. The best thing about it was being able to arrive at Heathrow and, after an easy tube journey, an hour later be at the apartment . Then, when we left London for Paris it was just a 5 minute walk to St Pancras station to catch the Eurostar train, easy! Such a brilliant location.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this apartment.

Our apartment is perfectly located in Bloomsbury, right in the very heart of the centre of London, so most of the sights can be reached on foot. The British Museum is just up the road, and all around you have interesting shops, cafes and restaurants ideal for a tourist visit.

This area is London at its best, with beautiful Georgian houses often arranged around a central square of garden. Some of these gardens are exquisitely planted with flower borders, trees and lawns...and best of all they are open and free to visitors.

Bloomsbury is right next to Covent Garden, Theatreland and the shopping district around Oxford Street. Hence some of the capitals most exclusive boutique hotels are to be found here.

Here are some of the places you might want to visit, with the time it will take you to walk to them...(we have walked most of these ourselves to check they are accurate) Of course, you could also take a Tube or a taxi, but by giving you the walking times you can see we are genuinely right in the middle of London....
