Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Maida Vale - Saltram Crescent

3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, house with a private garden in fantastic Maida Vale

Imagination run wild

Saltram Crescent is a true original. Its rooms simply effervesce with creativity; indeed, whichever way you turn you will encounter art, antiques and shelf upon shelf of much-loved books. There’s a playfulness here – a barrel becomes a side table, a library ladder bears a clock – amidst soothing tones of sage and cream. You’re a short walk from the limpid canals of Little Venice, from the fashionable boutiques and gastropubs of Westbourne Grove and from glorious Notting Hill. And if you’ve a desire to bring home a few vintage pieces of your own, then be sure to visit Portobello Road Antiques Market… a mere stroll from your front door.

Near and far

Your host is English and your hostess is from South Africa. Their love of art and all things intriguing is scattered around their home, all collected on adventurous forays into markets across the world.

Daydream believers

Every object has a story to tell, and you can spend hours imagining the past lives of the vintage pieces of furniture, and the curios that call from every surface. The rooms themselves are wide, airy and filled with original features. There’s a rustic, rough-hewn feel to the enormous open plan kitchen, its jigsawed wooden floor supporting a vast oak dining table, flanked by a bright array of Eames chairs. The plates were made by your host’s mother, an award-winning ceramic artist, and foodies will love the Aga. Throw open the doors to the walled garden, or, retire to one of your two sitting rooms, each filled with gorgeously squishy sofas and stunning art. There are three bathrooms and three bedrooms – the master being particularly spectacular, with its high ceiling, stripped wood, and an ensuite furnished with a freestanding bath and exquisite hand-painted tiles.

Around and about

Just a walk from Notting Hill and a quick cab ride from Kensington’s museums, Maida Vale is a peaceful part of town, its streets filled with tall, slim houses and scattered with ancient pubs. Catch some comedy at the Canal Café Theatre, feed the swans that spin slow circles on the water, then wend your way down into Westbourne Grove for lunch in one of the trendiest spots in town. And if the lights of Theatreland are calling, the tube from Maida Vale to Covent Garden takes around twenty minutes.

What makes this house unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
