From the vibrant hues of the couch to the multi-coloured chairs on the balcony, it’s clear that Randolph Avenue belongs, not to England, but to bella Italia. There’s a sleek aesthetic to this home- bright colours, sharp corners and lots and lots of lovely light.

The city home of an Italian with a love of clean lines and open space, Randolph Avenue sits in pretty in Maida Vale. Rather appropriately, it’s close to the beautiful waterways of Little Venice, and just a short walk from St John’s Wood’s shops, restaurants and cafes. Just the thing for that early morning cappuccino…

Renaissance man

Your host is a smart businessman, whose fashionable exterior does little to disguise his love for his family back home. He’s in London for work, and enjoys getting out around town to socialise, but his heart is still on the continent.

Oh, bravo…

There’s a bit of a climb to reach Randolph Avenue’s front door, but it’s well worth it for the peace, the light and some utterly glorious views over the enormous park-like shared garden below.

The large sitting room’s beautifully uncluttered, with a chic glass writing desk, an enormous squishy couch and access to a private roof terrace, complete with a table and chairs. Dine al fresco, or, if the weather’s not quite up to Tuscan standards, head up to the mezzanine, where you’ll find a modern kitchen and a dining table bathed in sunshine from three enormous skylights, and everything you need to cook up a mediterranean storm.

Back downstairs, there’s a bunk-bedded double, with room for an airbed, if required, and, across the hall, a chic shower room. The minimalist master bedroom looks out into the treetops, and boasts a black ensuite, choc full of White Company toiletries.

Home truths: This home is on the fourth floor of an old town house, so there are a lot of stairs, and no lift. There is no hanging space available for guests in the second bedroom, if you would like to ask about a collapsible rail, please mention it to our team when making your booking. There's a primary school fairly near to the home so there may be some outside noise around 9am weekdays.
