Nestled in a valley between Monchique's two dominant peaks, Foia and Picota, Casa Cor de Rosa is a charming country home. Originally a farmhouse set in 4000 m2, the property has, over the last twelve years, been tastefully and sensitively upgraded into a very private space offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience life in a typical rural mountain hamlet where traditional farming methods are still practiced.

Designed around a wisteria covered courtyard, the house has two wings. To the right of the main entrance is the entertainment area comprising an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area and to the left is the main body of the house which is double storey. Upstairs, the main, ensuite bedroom plus two single rooms and a full bathroom. Downstairs, two bedrooms, one bathroom, a TV room, study and laundry. It is simply but comfortably decorated and fully equipped.

The house directly connects to the courtyard, terrace and swimming pool from both wings. The kitchen leads out onto a back porch and covered garage area.

Walk past the pool and meander through a mature Mediterranean garden past a spring-fed pond covered in water lilies, the mulberry tree, garden shed and into the orchard. Stone steps bordered by an old stone tank overflowing with spring water all year round lead down into the organic vegetable patch. The garden has many corners to sit in.

A brook forms the eastern boundary of the property. 20m across this brook is a bus stop and 10m from the front door is a beautiful cork oak forest, perfect for walking. The village of Monchique, 3km away,provides all basic amenities.

Monchique, known as the top of the Algarve, is an area of great natural beauty ideal for nature lovers, walkers, hikers and mountain bikers. The mountain is rich in natural, Mediterranean flora, cork, chestnut and eucalyptus forests and natural water springs. Farming is still practiced on stone walled terraces and the region is well known for its agricultural produce, honey, firewater and gastronomy. The village of Monchique is a quaint mountain village with good facilities and good restaurants.

The magnificent beaches of the Algarve and the West Coast are 30 odd km away.
