The accommodation is all on one level and comprises of a large lounge having sumptuous furniture including lovely leather suite,occasional tables, fireplace and patio doors to the rear gardens. Entertainment is provided here by way of a Widescreen 40” LCD flat screen TV, UK TV 40+ channels, Internet browsing, 14 day catch up TV, Ipod dock and a DVD player. There is a separate open plan dining room with high quality modern American style kitchen which benefits from all modern appliances including a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, fridge freezer, electric oven and hob. Accessed from the hallway, the master double bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom, easy chairs and double patio doors to the garden. There is second lovely double bedrooms also having an en-suite bathroom and a further bedroom with two single beds and a pull out single bed. All the bedrooms have ceiling fans, bedside tables and built in wardrobes. There is an additional luxury family shower room for all to use.

We have built and owned this property for 7 years, we are a couple nearing retirement, we live in the north west of England and have been successfully renting out our Villa over that time.

We bought this plot back in 2002 because we loved the situation and the fantastic views and the beautiful area in general, its a bit more like the real Spain down here.

Peaceful area but not far from the main areas all the properties on this urbanisation are villas.

GOOD VILLA FOR A FAMILY

We are a family of four (adults) who rented the villa for eight days. Here are the pros and cons as we saw them. I'll start with the negatives and end on a positive note.

1. A temperamental hot water system. The water is heated by a propane tank that distributes hot water unevenly throughout the villa. It takes awhile to tweak the hot water so you can take a shower without scalding or freezing yourself.
2. A complicated cook top. Make sure you read the instructions before you attempt to cook on it.
3. An unreliable dishwasher. I suspect this has to do with the uneven distribution of hot water. We found it easier to just wash dishes, cooking and eating utensils by hand.
4. Limited television viewing. You can get a few news networks and channels that show old American TV series reruns, but aside from mostly trash, that's about it.
5. No WiFi. This created a real handicap, as we had to daily find a place where we could connect to the Internet. (McDonald's is usually a good place.) This may be available now.
6. Pesky feral cats. It is difficult to enjoy eating outside because the cats will persistently pester you for food. Mind the instructions that come with the villa: Don't feed the cats!

Now the positives.
1. The villa is very comfortable with nicely appointed furniture. The three bedrooms and bathrooms make it ideal for a family. We got a good night's rest every night.
2. The location of the villa for travel in the area is excellent. While the villa is semi-secluded, it is a stone's throw from a major highway (A7) that can connect you to just about anywhere you want to go.
3. The villa is set in a quiet neighborhood with limited traffic.
4. The villa is secure, set behind a locked gate where you can park your vehicle safely.
5. Each room is equipped with an electric, remote-controlled heater that works nicely if you need a little heat to take the chill out of the air.
6. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you will need to prepare meals.
7. The refrigerator and microwave are big pluses.
8. Although it was a little to cool for a dip in the pool, this would be welcome during warmer weather.
9. The beach is just a 9 minute walk down the hill. Coming back up takes about 15 minutes.

Advice: Whether you're coming from the east or west, just stay on Highway A7 until you get to the Manilva roundabout. Take the exit north into La Paloma and go up the hill until you get to 142 Calle Tabcalero.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review, the internet is now available (WiFi)we had lots of problems getting it connected up but finally sorted, we were not informed that dishwasher was playing up but when we did we immediately got it looked at and I have been informed its now ok, the complicated cooker top is indeed sometimes temperamental (Touch Control) but just read the info book first.
Not had any issues with the hot water before although as the villa is fairly big it takes a little longer to get hot water the further you are away from the boiler.The TV is a big problem here in Spain as we have lost a lot of SKY channels due to a new Satellite not transmitting to most of Spain but I am happy to say that this is all sorted now and we have UK TV 40+ channels, Internet browsing, 14 day catch up TV
Previous renters feed the cats and that is why they return (we were not aware of this until we returned to the Villa in Nov13)so for this rental season we ask them not to feed them.

The municipality is also just a short hop across the Strait of Gibraltar from continental Africa, namely Ceuta and Morocco.
