This condo comfortably sleeps 2-6 people in the bedrooms......in beds! No inconvenient living room hide-a-beds etc. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and private bathroom/vanity (sleeps 2). The second bedroom has TWO full-size beds PLUS a twin bunk, TV, and private access to 2nd bathroom (sleeps 4 easily) for a total of 6. Plus NEW cabinets and counter tops. LARGER Group? RENT ALL 3! Coin-operated laundry room is just down the hall, steps away for easy access.
Elevator access makes for easy coming and going. Walk thirty feet to sandy beach, pool, hot tub, the beautifully manicure gardens, tennis courts, croquet court, barbecue/picnic areas, volleyball, fitness center, and shuffle board. Take a short walk from the resort for great island boutique shopping, food, and recreation in historic Kapaa.
Enjoy your favorite movie or TV program on the new 42 inch flat screen Flatscreen TV and VHS/DVD, and beautiful furniture. Basic internet access in the condo is free for emails. For more robust internet usage (large files) you can upgrade the free service on a daily or weekly rate.

We love Kauai and especially Kapaa and Pono Kai. The resort is in a perfect location on the island and is very family friendly. The sunrises are spectacular!!! Our kids love to come vacation here year after year. We always find something new on the island. There are truly 101 things to do!!! We have purchased and furnished THREE beautiful condos for rental and personal use.
The ocean and beach are directly in front of the condo. The grounds are meticulously manicured. The 5 mile biking/walking path goes in front of our condo and up and down the island for awesome morning and evening rides/walks. The condo is centrally located on the island (Kapaa) so driving time is minimized. Great restaurants and activities abound all over and we can mingle with the locals and not feel stampeded by tourists. Perfect Hawaiian experience.

This is the second time we rent from the same owners and we very much appreciated their efficiency and kindness.
We spent Christmas 2012 here with our 3 kids. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was comfortable. We were worried about not having A/C, but managed okay. It was pretty cloudy most of the time we were there so not a big problem. Having the windows open at night did make the roosters more annoying at the crack of dawn though! We liked the Pono Kai resort. There are quite a few things you can do and the grounds are lovely. We were out and about most days but did used the pool and the shuffle board once. My favorite thing was the courtesy room where you can store your luggage on your last day. That was really nice! We were able to spend that last day having fun instead of worrying about our luggage in the car all day. Then we just went back, changed (there's a bathroom with a shower and towels too) got our luggage and headed to the airport. Great feature. We cooked Christmas dinner at the condo and found pretty much everything we needed in the way of pots and pans. We enjoyed using the beach towels and I even borrowed a hat one day for a hike. Thanks for all the little extras that make it so much fun to stay there!
This two bedroom condo is a gem. Watching whales breaching while sitting on the lanai drinking a coffee made for a great morning. We stayed with another couple so having a bathroom off each bedroom was great. Great location with easy access to both North and South shores and within walking distance to several restaurants and shops. The hottub was very welcoming after a long day of hiking. A couple of grocery stores down the road so we made good use of both the kitchen as well as the BBQ's on site. Thank you for a lovely holiday
My family (including 3 young boys) stayed here for our 4th trip to Kauai. We have stayed on the north and east side in the past and really liked this location. It was central to getting to north shore and south shore (although the north beaches were closed for the majority of our stay this time due to high waves). The condo was very well maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped and there were chairs and beach toys available. I loved the sleeping arrangements because there were beds for all 3 of our children. Usually, a bedroom only sleeps 2. The family room was comfortable and the view was amazing. The only bummer that is not reflected in the photos is the low, bright orange fence that goes along the beach outside of our condo. This may sound petty but it was a distraction from the otherwise heavenly views.
The mgmt was very helpful and accommodating in letting us check out late. This was a HUGE help because it allowed us another full day of play since we had a place to clean up before leaving for our night flight.
We would stay here again. Great location if you want access to North and South beaches, as well as very close proximity to Lydgate beach and the Wailua River.
My wife and I just returned from a visit to Kaua'i based at condo E-109 Pono Kai resort. Our two week stay was not our first trip to the Islands but was our first to Kaua'i. The location of the resort in the town of Kapaa was ideal for exploring the island and we put 513 miles on our rental car visiting beautiful and interesting sites and attractions. The condo itself was well situated amongst the ten buildings which constitue the very well maintained resort. Parking was especially convenient, only a few steps from our door. The ocean and the swim pool were also a short walk from the condo.
The condo itself was clean and well equipped with interior decorations far above the norm for a rental property. Although not air-conditioned, we experienced no discomfort, even though the usual trade winds failed for a couple of days. All the living spaces have effective ceiling fans which create a very adequate level of comfort, actually more pleasing than refrigerated air. All the major appliances worked and having a washer/dryer in the unit was a treat. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable; the other one we did not use. Plenty of linens and towels were provided.
The little town of Kapaa has two large supermarkets and numerous smaller shops selling everyhing one could want. There are local farmer's markets within a short drive. Worth a trip for really fresh fruit.
Local restaurants abound and offer a variety of styles and prices. Not to be missed is the Sunday brunch at Gaylord's on the Kilohana Plantation, Lihue. Be sure to make a reservation.
The Pono Kai Resort concierge will provide information on activities and book tours upon request.The lobby reception area has brochures available to help you make a selection. We chose to visit a nearby chocolate farm and also enjoyed a sunset dinner cruise on a catamaran.
Tc sum it up: The property listing accurately described the location and the facilities. Our stay was very enjoyable and we recommend it without reserve. One minor negative. The otherwise well equipped kitchen lacked a corkscrew !!
This was my first time to use online booking for a vacation, so I searched for weeks for the perfect spot, and this was it. We were so happy when we arrived to find that everything was exactly, or even better, than the pictures and description we had read. The condo was so clean, beautifully furnished and perfectly located right on the beach and adjacent to a wonderful walking/jogging/biking path. I got up to take sunrise pictures every morning...incredibly gorgeous! The beach and pathway were never crowded and the entire complex was meticulously maintained and looked beautiful. It was the ideal mid-way location to travel either north or south as far as possible in about an hour...well, unless you stopped at the many beautiful beaches, amazing Waimea Canyon, botanical gardens or shops and restaurants in the small towns along the way. We found there was a cooler we could use to take our picnic lunches on our outings, which really helped to cut down our food costs. In addition, there were some beach toys, towels and chairs which would be great for a family with kids. The condo was on the second floor on the corner of the building, so there was no unit above and only a neighbor on the one wall in the living room. The elevator was close by for when we had a lot of heavy items to carry up or down. I'd highly recommend this spot for your vacation!
