Wow factor

Unconventional and outrageously cool, to stay at Winchester Avenue means taking time out of real life and entering a world where anything seems possible. Lines dip and bend, dinosaurs ride bicycles and skulls’ eyes dance with flowers. This home is one giant work of art, where every room, every corner, every last object has been shaped to amaze and delight. Open the front door to find Queens Park, and the bars and restaurants of Brondesbury and Kilburn. Between the Lexi Cinema and Tricycle Theatre you’ve more than enough to keep you occupied, but of course, the main battle is simply tearing yourself away from the sofa.

He’s got the look

Your Australian host owns one of the capital’s top hairdressing salons, and when he’s not in London, he’s at his villa in Ibiza. He loves to travel and to collect art – ideally at the same time.

House of fun

If one word were to sum up this home, it would be ‘joy’. There’s just the most tremendous verve, a fearless spirit that flows through the zebra skin rug, the outré furniture and modern lighting. Winchester Avenue is rocking some serious curves, from the glass coffee table and the crackle glazed breakfast bar to the awesome mosaicked Jacuzzi.

The garden’s long, its green, green lawn shown to perfection against the saplings’ silvery bark, and up at the top of the house, the wide roof terrace kisses the sky. The guest double has something of an industrial aesthetic, with a slate floor and purposefully plain walls.

Yellow, white and stunningly styled, the master bedroom’s uber-hip, its bed poking from a triangular jag in the wall and the ensuite hiding behind a pane of dark glass.

Home Truths: There's not much hanging space in the bedrooms, so we will set up a collapsible wardrobe in each to give you a bit more space for your clothes. This home is spread over four levels, so there are quite a lot of- fairly steep- stairs. The roof terrace doesn't have a railing around every side, so might not be suitable for younger guests. The bicycle shown in the images will not be in the home during your stay.
