Here you’re never far from St George’s Bay, a lovely sandy beach suitable for, swimming and snorkeling. You can try your hand at other water sports too, including sailing, water skiing, paragliding, wake boarding, jet biking and kayaking.
There are some fantastic spots to explore to, making it ideal for hiking, horseback riding and cycling, while the promenade that leads to Sliema is popular with joggers. Sports enthusiasts are catered for too, with an 18-hole golf course at the Royal Malta Golf Club in Marsa. This same club also offers miniature golf, swimming, tennis and squash.
Visitors will also find many places to dine in the area, including restaurants, bars and cafés. There are some great shops located here too, whether you’re in need of groceries or just some retail therapy.
St Julian’s and Paceville are the islands’ main nightspots, with several clubs, casinos and bars. Both towns also have fascinating buildings to discover too, including the historic Giovanni Spinola Complex, built in 1658. Villa Dragonara is another fine example of local architecture; it has beautiful sea views and today houses a popular casino.
