This beautifully presented second floor apartment in Edinburgh’s Old Town has a communal roof area with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle - perfect for watching the Edinburgh International Festival and Hogmanay fireworks, or for having a peaceful drink at sunset.

Bread Street is a fantastic location in the heart of the UK’s favourite city (Observer Travel Awards 2012). The best of Edinburgh is on your doorstep. World-class tourist attractions, cutting-edge theatres and vibrant festival venues can be found amidst a throng of Michelin-starred restaurants, artisan cafes and leafy parks just beyond your threshold. This completely modernised apartment benefits from classic Edinburgh high ceilings and large south-facing windows, as well as a brand new kitchen and shower room. Comfort and convenience are high on the agenda, with luxurious Egyptian cotton bedlinen, a well-equipped kitchen, an iPod/smart phone dock and Wi-Fi throughout.

Check-in is from 3pm on the day of arrival and check-out by 10:30am on the morning of departure. Whenever possible, we are happy to arrange an early baggage drop-off or late baggage collection to suit your travel plans.

We provide a friendly and personal service, meeting all guests on arrival to provide keys and show you around the apartment. Our hope is that the apartment will be a home away from home during your stay in Edinburgh.

About Emelie & Owen Lima

We are a South African-Swedish couple who love going to new places (especially hot and sunny ones). In 2005 we somehow found ourselves in not-so-sunny, but spectacularly beautiful Scotland, and we are still in Edinburgh today. Combining our passion for property and travel, we always thought it would be fun to have a holiday let, so in 2012 we bought this flat in the perfect Edinburgh location and spent several months giving it a complete makeover. We hope you like it!

What makes this apartment unique

Call us biased, but we think this is the PERFECT location to explore Edinburgh (if in doubt, have a look at the list of what's available within 10 minutes' walking distance!). We also love the roof area and the character of the flat, with its high ceilings, bay windows and even an old-fashioned clothes pulley.

Very comfortable and convenient apartment

Everything about this apartment was exactly as described; great location, convenient to everything, comfortable bed, spotless kitchen. The layout worked very well for 3 of us since you could close off the bedroom and living room areas for privacy.

Emilie and Owen were extremely easy to work with and left us lovely goodies for our arrival.

We had great food at Petit Paris (recommended by Owen), Maison Bleu and Howie's nearby and The Dogs in the New Town. Excellent burgers at the Last Drop. Crowded but good live music at Sandy Bell's.

I highly recommend this apartment.

Lovely apartment, great location

Lovely apartment, great location. Immaculately clean. Nice touches such as fresh bread, biscuits, milk etc on arrival. Travel cot and highchair provided for our little boy to save us bringing our own. Emelie and Owen helped us unpack our car and then drove us somewhere to park our car outside of the paid parking zones to save us money. Lovely view of edinburgh from the rooftop. Cosy and warm apartment, would recommend to friends to stay.

A Home from Home!

A lovely, well decorated property that is a hop, skip and a jump from Grass Market where you'll find bars and restaurants a plenty.

Emelie is the perfect host, with lots of information on what to do, where to go. She also provided tea, biscuits (yummy) and milk for us upon arrival which were very well received. She even went the extra mile and forwarded over to me my Kindle (which I'd left) - thank you.

A delightful apartment, I would return and recommend to anyone.

Excellent, well appointed & high quality.

The property was fully equipped and had everything we needed, including snacks, milk, tea & coffee to get us started. Supermarket, eateries & cafes in very close proximity. We were able to walk to all tourist sites in the city centre and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience.

Well Supplied Chic Flat in a Great Location

We spent a week in this chic apartment near Grassmarket area. The apartment was well supplied with everything you might need and a few unexpected treats. The location is handy to numerous transit bus lines and two train stations. You can easily walk to the royal mile. The area can be noisy at night but sleep is unaffected because the double glass in the bedroom window block the sound so well. Emelie, our host was helpful and charming. The internet is reliable and fast so you can easily stay connected. Scotland is a beautiful country. Edinburgh and nearby castles are fascinating. This is a great base to explore them all.

Kindness first

Good location, beside Grassmarket and near Edinburgh Castle. It's not very big, but very comfortable. Perfect kitchen and bathroom and comfortable bedroom. But the best, the hosts, always prepared to helping you. Thanks a lot. Ah, and always there is something in the fridge if you arrive late and don't have dinner ;)
