This well maintained 2 bedroom apartment with en-suite bathrooms is situated inside the Reid's Gardens, right next door to the world famous Reid's Hotel, and is the most prestigious and well maintained complex in Funchal. Reid's Gardens has a closed condominium, porter, security and CCTV cameras. The spacious terrace of this first floor apartment has a sea view and overlooks the block's private gardens and swimming pool. This fully equipped and furnished apartment accommodates 4 people and is located within ten minutes walking distance from the town centre.
A maid service is provided once per week.
If you are interested in playing golf, a discount of 20% off the published green fee rates, is available for guests staying in this apartment, at Palheiro Golf Club. Between June and September unlimited golf passes are available at Palheiro Golf Club, where you pay for three rounds but can play seven rounds.
In conformity with Portuguese law this apartment is registered and fully licensed by the local council as an 'Authorised Letting Residence'. The license was issued on January 9, 2012 and is numbered 1/2012.
You won't find a better apartment or more welcoming owners anywhere else. Everything is superb and Manuela and David just helped make our stay one of the most enjoyable holidays ever.
This was our first visit to Madeira & we feel very fortunate to have booked this apartment, it really did live up to it's reputation & more! Beautifully situated overlooking the private gardens & sea view, very comfortable spacious clean & well equipped. It came as no surprise the lovely warm welcome we received from Manuela who showed us around & made sure we were happy, we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was our fourth holiday in this apartment which is excellent in every respect. It's possibly the best apartment in an exclusive gated complex next to Reids. The apartment is spotless and extremely well maintained by welcoming hosts Manuela and David. Lovely views of the pool, sea and gardens from the balcony.
This is probably the best holiday apartment on the island - perfectly situated overlooking the gardens, the sea and the harbour, finished and furnished to the highest standard. Manuela couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful, organising a taxi to meet us at the airport and another for the return journey - and surprising us with a bottle of champagne and a card to mark our fiftieth wedding anniversary!
It was our first visit to Madeira, so we did all the tourist things - cable car to Monte and the toboggan run back down (a hair-raising white-knuckle experience to be neither missed nor repeated!) , the elegant tea at Reid's, fireworks on the harbour, bus trip up Nuns' Valley, the works. We even groaned alongside the locals as Portugal were thrashed by Germany in the World Cup...
We enjoyed daily breakfast croissants and coffee at the very pleasant Petit Fours café just across the road from Reid's, and can wholeheartedly recommend the excellent X-Tonell restaurant a few doors away, and the Casa Vincente farther along the road towards the Lido.
We'd thought that Madeira might be a bit quiet - not a bit of it! There was so much going on, so many things to do that we ran out of days to do all we wanted to. Our first visit to Madeira, but surely not our last.

If you read the reviews you will find that there are only two since 2011. I have a theory. I think people who have stayed here want to keep the secret to themselves. Believe all the 5 star reviews about the apartment - they are true.
The description is accurate, the property was spotlessly clean and I would recommend it to anyone. Spacious, large balcony and an inviting pool. The best self-catering apartment we've stayed in.
Restaurants - try X-Tonel opposite Reids. For coffee/snack - Petit Fours in the same row. For an expensive lunch and the ambience - Reids.
Activities - walk from the lido to Camara Lobos. Try a tour round the western side of the island in a small minibus not a big coach.
This was our First trip to the island. I was not sure what to expect as we normally stay in hotels when we go abroad! From the minute we arrived and met our hosts - I knew that this would be a holiday to remember! Not only were both Manuela and David very friendly and hospitable - but they also made sure that we were well informed of all the sights and attractions on the island! Nothing was to much of an effort and our hosts made sure that we were very comfortable in our apartment!
The apartment is beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean, and comes with a fully stocked Kitchen with all essentials needed to make our stay PERFECT! It has 2 bedrooms, and both are on-suite. the living room separates both sleeping areas, and this proved to be a wonderful plus especially if one wanted to sleep in and not be disturbed!
The concierge, who is a wonderful Lady (not sure of her name), overseas the grounds, and the running of all the facilities within the apartment block! The location is peaceful and tranquil and will delight in getting the everyday stresses out of the system!
The apartment hosts the most exquisite swimming pool, that gets the sun for most of the day. The gym downstairs has a treadmill and weights and proved to serve its purpose, especially after our over indulging, in the local restaurants - (that are in close walking distance from the apartment)!
We had a car that was parked in the allocated secure undercover parking, which we hardly used (car), as everything was in close walking distance and VERY easy to get to.
When is was time for our departure - we were definitely VERY SAD to leave! On the plus side though, we have decided to go back over the summer for an extended vacation!

The apartment is well situated at the town end of the Estrada Monumental, next to Reid's Hotel. It is within easy walking distance of many restaurants, shops, banks and is on a main bus route.
