Perfect weekend in a perfect cottage

  • 5 of 5

Myself and 7 friend stayed in this cottage over a weekend and it certainly did not disappoint. It had everything is said it had and more. The cottage is beautiful from top to bottom and completely immaculate. It really has been done up lovely. There was plenty of room and the bedrooms were lovely. The kitchen was perfect - loved cooking in it over the weekend. Plenty of plates, pots, pans, cutlery... You make it, it was there!!

On our arrival we found the properly relatively easy as we just typed in the postcode which led us straight there. Once we got to the area we weren't too sure which house it was. After a quick phone call to Helen, she lead us straight to the house over the phone and was very helpful and friendly.

We spent Saturday in Windermere itself. Absolutely stunning....and the cottage is so easy to get backwards and forwards to. Really is in an ideal location.

Plenty of shops and breathtaking views. Just wandering into Windermere itself was our favourite, having a coffee here and there.

We also ventured to the aquarium during our stay...I must say it was disappointing and wouldn't recommend it.

On the Saturday night we booked to go to Jintana Thai restaurant which is just in the town. Thai is our favourite food and we must say it was the best thai we have ever had. BEAUTIFUL!!! We then wandered down to some of the pubs which were just lovely - great atmosphere. From the cottage to the town we got a taxi which fit all 8 of us in. It cost us £1 each which was ideal....the lovely taxi man was very helpful and gave us his number to pick us up for the same price later that night!

On Sunday we wandered into Grassmere and round the shops which was also lovely!

There were tonnes of walkers....we really should have been more prepared, it looked so popular for walking!

All in all, top weekend had by all and we would highly recommend this cottage to anyone. Families, friends, couples!

We hope to be returning ourselves in the future!

A charming little cottage with a modern twist

  • 5 of 5

A charming little cottage which has been renovated to a high specification but still retains many of its original features.

Only a short 5 min drive to Lake Windermere and Bowness. Pretty much a straight run from leaving the M6.

The cottage comprises of a modern kitchen/dining area with an amazing skylight and French doors out on to a decked area in the garden. I can imagine it being lovely in the summer.

Also on the ground floor is a cosy living room area with an open fire, although no firewood was provided, and we were not sure if the owner would be happy with us buying our own as there were no guidelines/instructions in the manual? The central heating was more than adequate though.

On the first floor is the master bedroom with ensuite, which has been renovated to a very high standard. Think boutique hotel!

The second floor/loft area compromises of 2 bedrooms, one larger than the other, with a shared ensuite bathroom & shower.

There is also a basement which can be used as a bedroom I believe although we only ventured down there once.

All in all, the perfect setting for a lovely weekend away with family. Highly recommend this property.

Loved it!!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived to the minute we had to leave out stay at Rose Cottage was lovely. The cottage is very spacious and homely. The log fire was definitely one of my favourite features a long won't the em suite bathroom in the main bedroom. It's literally a 10-15 minute walk away from the shops and about 20 minutes from Lake Windermere. It's ideal for a family/friend getaway and the prices are very reasonable for what you get.

The owner was extremely helpful and was able to answer any questions upon our arrival such as the location of the closest supermarket.

Overall just an amazing place.

I would definitely return in the future :)

Rose cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Rose Cottage at the weekend there were 6 adults and 2 kids in the party and the cottage and garden had ample space for all of us. The cottage was beautiful and finished to a very high standard. It was also very close to all the local amenities which was great! We will DEFINATELY be back and would highly recommend to friends and family!

Fantastic Stay in a Beautiful House

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Rose Cottage over New Year and would like to say thank you for an amazing time. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived and is beautifully decorated. There were 7 of us in the group, 4 adults and 3 children, the house provided ample space for all of us and the facilities were great. During our stay there was a slight issue with an electrical switch that kept tripping, even though it was New Years day the owner sent someone round within 15 minutes and the issue was sorted really quickly which, given the day was excellent. The cottage is really close to the local amenities and there is ample off road parking. We couldn't recommend highly enough and will definitely be returning in the future.
