Lovely house in a very peaceful setting, yet only 5 minutes walk to shops, restaurants, bus and dart links. Very well equipped property with the bonus of outdoor space. Fantastic internet and television service. Pat is close by, should there be any problems (however in our case, we did not need her). We stayed for a month and did not want to leave! We would recommend leap cards for travel on the dart, luas and bus. The towns of Blackrock and Dun Loaghaire are both a short walk away and offer even more restaurants, shops and activities. We would thoroughly recommend this property.
Owner's Response: Dear Guests from Spain and the UK,

Many thanks indeed for your 5-star review.
I'm delighted that you were comfortable and enjoyed your month at the house and in Monkstown.
Thank you too for your advice for other guests about the use of Leap cards on public transport, a very helpful suggestion.
Best wishes, Pat

Fantastic stay in the Dublin area

We stayed here on the second week of a two week visit to Ireland and used it as a home base to visit Dublin and surrounding area. The house is located in a very quiet semi-private street off of the main road and was a perfect place to stay during our visit. It was very easy to locate and Pat had taken the time to write us a detailed handwritten letter with all of the information required to find the house.

Pat was very flexible with our arrival time. We phoned in advanced the day of arrival to let her know we'd be an hour later than planned and there were no problems. She even provided milk and cookies and had the fireplace ready to go when we arrived after a long day of day of travel.

The house is in excellent condition and the bathroom and kitchen are very clean, recently renovated and well equipped. Pat had prepared detailed written info cards on everything we needed to know about the house including operating the appliances. This is very useful if you're not used to European appliances as they work very differently from those in North America. We appreciated the very well stocked kitchen, with plenty of dishes and wares for cooking, as well as basic supplies like foil, plastic wrap, soap etc. This is something you don't always see in vacation rentals, so was appreciated. A simple suggestion for Pat is to add a colander (for straining pasta).

The bed in the main bedroom was comfortable (we didn't use the single bed in the smaller of the two bedrooms). The house had a nice private terrace in the backyard but we didn't get to use it as the weather was already starting to cool when we were there. There is a dedicated parking spot across from the front door which is very convenient for carrying groceries or suitcases.

Monkstown was a nice surprise! We were mainly there to visit Dublin, but it's definitely worth spending an afternoon visiting. We walked around the harbour on a sunny warm Sunday afternoon and enjoyed beautiful views of the Irish Sea and saw people out on their sailboats. Monkstown and Blackrock are within walking distance if you want to go to a pub or do some shopping. We used our car to visit downtown Dublin, about a 15-20 minute drive and parked at one of the many parking structures which usually charge by the hour, with a max of about 15 Euros per day. Alternately you can take the commuter train or bus from Monkstown.

We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this rental to a friend! Thanks!
Owner's Response: Dear Guests from Canada,

Thanks a million for your kind review.
So glad that you enjoyed your stay at the house and that you were pleasantly surprised by Monkstown itself.
I've taken note of your good suggestion about providing a colander in the kitchen and certainly will do, for future guests.
Thanks again and best wishes,
Pat

We spent a very happy week in this immaculate, well-equipped property with all home comforts. It is in a select, quiet location, with a small wooded area to the rear giving a nice view of trees from the back bedroom, yet within close walking distance to lovely shops, pubs and public transport. Many thanks to the owners who made every effort to provide excellent accommodation and service and for invaluable information regarding travelling from the Airport and Ferry Port. We recommend both Monkstown and this property for a very happy holiday experience.
Owner's Response: Dear Guests from the UK, Thanks so much for your great review. I'm delighted that the advance information was helpful and that you had such an enjoyable holiday. Best regards, Pat

Great house. 2 beds but option for 3. Monkstown is a lovely little village and the house is close to the train so easy to get to Dublin. Also has a parking space and everything in the house was immaculate. Would recommend. Dave
Owner's Response: Thank you David for your recommendation. I'm glad that you liked the house and of course, as you say, Monkstown is a lovely village.
It was a pleasure having you and your wife to stay.
I hope we might see you again when you're back in Dublin.
