Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Ladbroke Grove - Hill Farm Road
2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Romantic Retreat is All Vintage Touches
Along a hushed country-like lane, a row of dreamy cottages sits smothered in roses and ivy. Genteel, pretty and as cosy as cream tea, Hill Farm Road is a cranny of London the bustle can never reach. Rustic floorboards creak beneath your feet, rows of old photos cover letterbox-red walls, while antiques from rocking horses to sewing machines are a trove of treasures. And even with Notting Hill but a leisurely stroll, we wouldn’t blame you if you had eyes only for the flowerbeds and bird tables in the garden.
I remember Adlestrop
Your hostess is soon to swap her London cottage for a countryside one – and her dog is wagging his tail at the prospect. She has quite a flair for vintage finds, as you’ll spot from the up cycled pieces and furniture snapped up at auction.
Make your way up the garden path, breathe the aroma of roses and let your eyes ramble across the sitting room’s antiques, photos and rows of hardbacks. To satisfy a thirst you might make for the globe-shaped drink cabinet, while the quaint kitchen in deep blue will satisfy deeper hungers.
Tread over the gravel and you’ll find a cluster of colourful chairs, or stay inside and sink into the classic free-standing tub in the characterful bathroom. The bedrooms are each as inviting as can be, the double all terracotta pots and vintage medicine bottles.

About Owner / Property Manager
onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.
Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.
Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.
Why Owner / Property Manager chose Ladbroke Grove
Notting Hill’s rebellious, bohemian younger cousin, Ladbroke Grove runs south of the Hill, before you hit Kensal Green. Partly gentrified, partly untouched, the area is a true testament to London’s unique and glorious mosaic of social classes, ethnicities and age groups.
Golborne Road, which runs north from Portobello Road, is a beautiful case in point. Here designer Stella McCartney runs her multi-million pound empire from a converted chapel surrounded by thriving halal butchers, Moroccan cafes and Portugese grocers.
And while further up the Portobello road this heady mix may have got somewhat diluted over the years, here high-end fashion boutiques and avocado-sourdough-sandwich serving cafes, live happily side by side with the bustling fruit-and-vegetable market, vintage bric-a-brac shops and down-to-earth pubs, all of which make Ladbroke Grove such a desirable place to be.
