As an ex English teacher in this area of Greece, I vowed to come back one day. 5 years later, I came back with my husband and we bought a plot of land on the edge of Megail Mandinea. We then built the house to exacting standards over a period of 3 years. Every year we go back to experience the village, the views and to chill out. It is the real Greece - one that is difficult to find.
Eileen purchased this villa in 2006
Why Eileen chose Megali Mandinia
We have now decided to rent the property as we want to share this unbelievable and as yet unspoilt area. More and more flights are beginning to fly into Kalamata airport and the magic of this real gem may be lost in years to come.
What makes this villa unique
Aside from the spectacular views of the Messinian Gulf and the Taygetos mountains, everybody comments that the best part of the house is the unusually large covered veranda. You'll only want to leave the comfort of this area to dip into the pool. Spend hours relaxing, reading, drinking ouzo or fresh juice here and then think 'Where has the day gone?'.
