Lovely place to stay

Lovely house and garden. The housekeeper, Filomena, keeps both spotlessly clean. Without doubt the cleanest rental house we've stayed in. We arrived with a large dog who was nervous after emigrating from the UK. Filomena was fantastic with her, which made our stay so much more relaxing. The area is great and the house is just a 2 minute walk from restaurants and local shops, all of whom were very welcoming.

A very nice place to stay

Quiet, private, own parking space, easy access to roads for trips all over the island. Small shops and few restaurants within a few minutes walk. Very nicely decorated inerior and well-kept garden.

Wunderschönes Haus in Madeira

Unsere Woche in Madeira hätte nicht schöner sein können. Dieses Haus war wirklich ein Traum. Wir haben, weil es so schön war, auch Abende zuhause genossen auf der Terrasse und im Garten! Ich würde gleich nochmals dieses Haus buchen :)

I am a dentist living in Funchal for the last 30 years. In fact I have been living more time in Madeira than anywhere else. I was born near Bergen, Norway, where I graduated. Later I worked in Denmark and Lebanon, before settling down in this beautiful island. Here I work as a dentist, but do rural tourism and local tourism as a hobby. I am one of the founder of the association for rural tourism in Madeira, Madeira Rural.

Why they chose this property

Madeira is the island of eternal spring. We really do not have any winter, compared to the rest of Europe. The beauty of the island, the climate and the warmth of its people makes it the best place to stay and visit. Villa Echium is named after the plant Echium, or the Pride of Madeira, a flowering, endemic bush that you will find in our garden, behind the fish pond.

What makes this property unique

This property is near everything but still away from it all. It is in a quiet area among other posh villas. Near enough the main roads, but separate and free of noisy traffic.
