Philip and Derek own a specialist travel business.

This is our home in Scotland where we spend at least one month per year and holiday let the house the rest of the year.

Philip grew up a Yorkshire farmer and Derek is from Carlisle.

Philip Green purchased this chateau / country house in 1988

Philip first saw this house in April 1988 and fell in love with the spectacular location and this beautiful Scottish house. He immediately bought it and has since spent many happy times with family and friends in this magnificent house.

We have renovated the house twice since 1988 and re-landscaped the grounds in 2013.

It is spacious, warm and comfortable. Even if there are 14 of you, it doesn't feel crowded. Some folks sit in the conservatory, some play pool, some hang out in the kitchen and others watch the 42 inch flat screen TV in the lounge.

We all get together for meals around the dining table.

We have had many parties here:- just move one settee from the lounge to the hall, roll back the rug and you have room for Scottish Country dancing. Oh the Gay Gordons! What a Highland Fling!

A group of 12 adults and 2 children stayed at Ardrhu house over New Year. The house is beautiful and has a stunning location on the edge of Loch Linhe and close to Glen Coe and the beautiful cascade at Inchree. The house is perfect for large group with enough space for everyone. It is also great for dealing with Scottish weather with a pool table and a sauna which is great for warming up after a swim in the loch or a walk in the rain or snow. Looking forward to the next trip in the summer already !!

My extended family gathered in Scotland for a Highlands adventure. We could not have asked for a more perfect home from which to base our vacation! The kids loved exploring the "Castle House" and playing on the lawn. The view was breathtaking. We would most certainly stay there again!

Our party of 10 arrived at the property on the Friday night and were blown away but this beautiful house. For such a large place it had an immediately cosy and welcoming feel. It was very clean and well kept, I couldn’t say a single negative word about it. The owner was very helpful and a joy to converse with.
I’d recommend Ardrhu to anyone and we’re already planning our next visit.

We started planning our vacation very late and there are very few holiday rentals which could accommodate all fifteen of us. I'm not sure if we would have booked a better house even if we had a lot of time. The house was exactly as shown in the photos. The views from the house were amazing, we are happy with our choice.

Paradise by the Loch

There cannot be many places with the charisma of Ardrhu House.
Stunning Oak floors, beautiful artwork, huge kitchen, pool room, conservatory, more bedrooms than a hotel. Oh, and then there is the location! On the edge of the loch with the most amazing views across the water.
Sitting in the lounge by the fire, after a huge meal that followed a brilliant walk to a magnificent waterfall, we thought we had died and gone to heaven. The drive up from Glasgow was one surprise after the other, from driving along the side of Loch Lomond to crossing the Glencoe Pass with views of Ben Nevis. We were continually astounded by the majesty and beauty of the region.
The owner of Ardrhu, Philip, could not have been more helpful in having the property ready for our arrival with plenty of tips about activities.
Harry Potter fans will get a huge kick out of the steam train ride from Fort William to the fishing town of Mallaig on the Atlantic Ocean. You pass over the train viaduct used in the second movie where Harry and Ron are chasing the train in the flying car. You also pass by the island where Dumbledore was buried in the Deathly Hallows.
Ardrhu House was a paradise for our family after 2 weeks in pokey hotels. I could not recommend this property highly enough to do it justice!!!

Set on the sea shore, with magnificent panoramic views of the sea and the mountains.

Ideal touring base with routes radiating out in all directions.

Close to Ben Nevis and even closer to the magnificent mountains of Glencoe. A perfect base for climbing the dozens of 'Munro' mountains within a 30 minute drive, or easy local walks direct from the house such as the 3 mile circular route around Inchree waterfalls.

Excellent base for cycling and mountain biking in the surrounding forest tracks or along the old railway line to Oban which is now a national cycle path.
