'The Loft' is a truly amazing penthouse. It is totally unique, and designed to a luxurious specification. With two en-suite bedrooms, a magnificent 100m2 private roof terrace with hot tub, stunning sea & mountain views, and huge shady balcony spanning the entire width of the property, it is the premium property in Makrigialos. The only 90m2 penthouse at Bayview, it accommodates up to six comfortably. The master double bedroom with en-suite, the second double/twin bedroom with en-suite, with another full-size double fold-down bed built-in to the living room wall. Both bedrooms have fully independent air conditioning, as does the enormous open plan living and dining area. The entire property has been fitted out to the highest standards with marble floors, travertine & glass surfaces, and has a contemporary, design led interior. Every attention to detail has been paid to make this stunning property the epitome of luxury accommodation. The kitchen includes a dishwasher & washing machine, and of course coordinating appliances and fittings. The main balcony is fully furnished with stylish furniture & is fronted by a glass balustrade that maximises the incredible views from the main living area and the master bedroom. The second bedroom has it's own private balcony, and there is another balcony from the kitchen. The roof terrace has been fully furnished to offer an enormous private area for sunbathing, dining, relaxing, and of course enjoying the hot tub. Sitting in the hot tub at night, with a cool drink, looking over the sea and mountains is magical. The living area has a flat screen LED TV with X-Box, and a large library of current DVD's. Bring your iPod or iPhone as there is an iPod dock music system (you'll need your own converter for an iPhone 5). Both bedrooms have hair dryers, and stylish beach towels are included to save weight and space in your suitcases.

My husband Steve and I live in the UK and have two teenage daughters. We own and run two businesses, one in the construction industry, and another in interior design. Our aim for The Loft has always and will always be to offer our guests the highest standard of luxury rental accommodation that we look for ourselves whenever we travel. We take great pride in what we offer to our clients and we strive to present the property to the highest possible standard. The Loft showcases my passion for interior design, and is very much our house in Makrigialos as well as a property available for rent, which is why it has been designed to be luxurious & individual, and not a generic rental property.

The Loft is the second of our properties at Bayview. We bought a Townhouse in 2009 that we also offer for rent. Because of it's success we wanted the opportunity to offer the most prestigious property at Bayview and we hope we have achieved this. The reasons we chose to own property here are simply that Makrigialos is a truly magical place; the views from our properties are just unbelievable; and the combination of style and available amenities offered us everything we wanted for ourselves and our guests.

The Loft is the only property of it's type at Bayview, in size, layout, and finish. The roof terrace has to be seen to be appreciated, even after you have seen the photographs.

Rejuvenating the batteries in style

On a whim I decided that despite having never traveled or driven abroad alone, I needed a breather. I contacted Steve/Julie on the Saturday and arrived the next day. To say they were outstanding in both their response to the initial enquiry and the multitude of emails I sent is an understatement. Nothing was too much trouble. I was given details of car hire, places to visit/eat, directions to the house, arrangements for key pickup. Everything I needed to ensure I arrived safely (which thankfully I did)

The villa itself is breathtaking. Beautifully furnished with everything you'd need for a relaxed stay. Even a welcoming bottle of wine, beer, milk and choc ices.

You will need to hire a car whilst there as it's not walking distance to anywhere but that was the charm in choosing it in the first place. Seclusion, quiet and a beach within 5 mins walk. There is also another beach less than 5 mins drive that has a taverna alongside.

As a rule I don't usually write reviews but in this instance Steve and Julie deserve a glowing review. The accommodation, location, assistance given was first class and worth every penny.

I for one, will certainly return with a smile.

Well done. For my first ever solo trip, it was an amazing success and one I'll look back on with fond memories in years to come.

On the South East coast of Crete, with a mountain backdrop, Makrigialos benefits from a micro-climate giving it the best weather on the island. Makrigialos has a small, lively harbour that comes alive at night with numerous local restaurants and cafes serving the freshest local food. This is not an area that is commercialised or abounds with nightclubs. If you want a taste of the real Crete, this is for you. The area is famous for the production of the finest olive oil in the world. The natural beauty of the coast is simply staggering with deserted coves and bays seemingly round every turn. Local waterside tavernas welcome you with cool drinks and delicious food. The nearest towns of Ierapetra and Sitia both have bustling water fronts with cafes spilling out onto the promenades. Both have good shopping, but if you want to go a step further, Heraklion offers shopping to international standards. The area offers all manner of activities & water sports. Spinalonga is well worth a day trip.

50% of the total rental is payable with your booking. The balance is payable 10 weeks before the start of your holiday.
A refundable security deposit of £200 is required to be paid with your final balance. It will be refunded to you once the property has been inspected by our housekeeper.
Notes Deposits are non-refundable, but in the event that you have to cancel, you may be able to reclaim this on your holiday or travel insurance.
