Overview

Overview

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Ascott under Wychwood - 26 High Street

5 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Walking Distance To Village Train Station

26 High Street is a fabulous property with jaw droopingly spacious reception rooms in lovely contemporary style. Light pours in through the many windows and the views from the balcony on the South East side of the house are wonderful.

High Street is a quiet no through lane that runs to farm beyond. the Village Store is a short walk away and offers lots of locally sourced fresh produce, freshly baked bread, luxuries and essentials. It is also stone's throw from Ascott station, which is on the main line from Birmingham to London and benefits from daily services.

The market towns of Burford and Chipping Norton are 15 minutes away and there are numerous sites, museums, historic houses and attractions to visit and explore.

The national Cycle Route passes very close to the village and there are lots of foot paths leading to some excellent pubs in the area.

26 High Street is perfectly placed for a fabulous stay away from home.

The Cotwolds is itself an area of outstanding natural beauty; stunning rural rolling countryside is peppered with ancient villages made of honey coloured stone. There are numerous historic houses, museums, churches, even palaces and place of interest to explore. The most famous perhaps is Blenheim Palace, just 18 km away and the dreaming spires of Oxford 35 km away.

The village of Ascott-under-Wychwood sits in the Evenlode valley and there are numerous walks from route outside the door, plus access to miles of the Oxfordshire Cycle Way just a short pedal away. The Cotswold Water Park is a huge area of lakes, many of which offer recreational water sports activities - from dinghy sailing to wake boarding and jet skiing.

Once you've worked up an appetite, you will discover the Cotswolds is gastronomic heaven too. Seemingly around every corner there's a fantastic tea shop, pub or restaurant. Most offer a relaxed atmosphere with delicious menus centred around locally sourced food. Artisan breweries make unusual craft beers, often round the back in the garden!
