Cotswold Water Park
The Cotwolds is itself an area of outstanding natural beauty; stunning rural rolling countryside is peppered with ancient villages made of honey coloured stone. There are numerous historic houses, museums, churches, even palaces and place of interest to explore. The most famous perhaps is Blenheim Palace, just 18 km away and the dreaming spires of Oxford 35 km away.
The village of Ascott-under-Wychwood sits in the Evenlode valley and there are numerous walks from route outside the door, plus access to miles of the Oxfordshire Cycle Way just a short pedal away. The Cotswold Water Park is a huge area of lakes, many of which offer recreational water sports activities - from dinghy sailing to wake boarding and jet skiing.
Once you've worked up an appetite, you will discover the Cotswolds is gastronomic heaven too. Seemingly around every corner there's a fantastic tea shop, pub or restaurant. Most offer a relaxed atmosphere with delicious menus centred around locally sourced food. Artisan breweries make unusual craft beers, often round the back in the garden!
