Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Dartmeet - Brimptsmead A37
Sleeps 5, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
About 200 yards up the hillside from Dartmeet, hidden amid fine trees about 100 yards (private drive) from the road and from the river, a handsome stone cottage built in 1906 by a gin baron for his gardener, attached to another cottage (built for the chauffeur). Very secluded, an excellent place for tor climbing and riverside picnics. Twelve acres of woods and meadows (bluebells in spring) to explore, stretching to the river (private salmon/trout fishing), and direct access to the moor. Garden in front and large meadow area at the back with patio (table/chairs, barbecue).
Inside, attractive and comfortable. Porch; hall; good-sized living room (woodburner, TV/DVD); reading room; fitted kitchen/dining room (fridge-freezer, washing machine, microwave). Upstairs, three bedrooms – a big double (6’ bed) with 3 steps up to en suite shower-room (suite), another double with 3 steps up to en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower), and 2 steps down to a little single (use of en suite bathrooms only). Game or rough shooting, by arrangement. A superb situation for walkers or just lazy scenery-lovers.
