Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Bayswater - Conduit Mews
3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, contempory, high-spec mews house in West London
So you’ve arrived in London with nothing but a suitcase and a stash of marmalade sandwiches… never fear. Whether, like Paddington, you’ve journeyed from Darkest Peru, or you’ve just hopped off the Heathrow Express, you’ll soon be feeling right at home in this neat house, with its modern interiors, interesting artwork and heaps of books. The building may be Georgian, but the kitchen and bathrooms are high-spec and contemporary, while outside, you’ll be in raptures over your pastel-painted neighbours. You’re a stone’s throw from Paddington station, just over the road from Kensington Gardens, and you can walk to both Oxford Street and Notting Hill.
Smarter than the average…
Your hostess is Irish, and Conduit Mews is her London base. She has other homes in Staffordshire and Ireland, where she and her family love racing horses in the fresh air. When in town, you’ll find her nestling down with a good book or heading to an evening at the opera.
Paws for thought
Cobbles, window boxes and houses that look as though they’ve been dipped in cupcake icing – the entrance to Conduit Mews is just magical. Once inside, you’ll find the open plan living space to be filled with stylishly robust furniture. The sofa’s clad in chocolate leather, while the polished dining table sits beneath an entire wall of books. Upstairs, the master bedroom holds a kingsized bed amidst simple décor, and its ensuite shower room resembles that of a luxury hotel. There are two further bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a family bathroom, filled with our White Company toiletries and fluffy towels.
Ready, teddy, go
Put on your duffle coat and head for the door, because you’ve got ever so much to do. You can see a statue of Paddington himself over in the station, then, take your sandwiches to Kensington Gardens for a picnic. You’ll find steamy cafes serving up cocoa alongside some rather smart restaurants down on Queensway, and here, too, there are small independent shops, a bowling alley and even an ice cream parlour. The tube from Lancaster Gate to Oxford Circus takes five minutes.
