Regent's Park, between vibrant Camden and affluent Primrose Hill is a peaceful enclave of imposing old townhouses and boutique shops. Close enough to almost hear the squawks and purrs of London Zoo, you could be forgiven for thinking, while wandering the streets, that it’s all sweet cafes, tall white houses and Victorian streetlamps. But head up to nearby Camden High Street and you’ll find one of the city’s edgiest thoroughfares. Inside, Gloucester Avenue 3 is fashionably minimalist, with designer furniture punctuated by bursts of bright colour, and, despite its enviable location, an exceptional sense of peace.

Your host is a rather sophisticated type with a real flair for the extraordinary, as you’ll see from his choice of fabrics – from faux-snakeskin to chartreuse velvet.

What a pad! Large windows and a gleaming chocolate-brown wooden floor lend this home real warmth, while the furniture’s contemporary and fun. Zone out in front of the big flatscreen TV or immerse yourself in music from the high-spec sound system. The kitchen’s a little more traditional, with wooden units and tiles of natural stone, and the shiny dining table seats six. There are two bedrooms, a pared back double and a snazzy monochrome master, with a bespoke mirrored wardrobe, leather chair, and super kingsized bed.

Home truths This home is very close to the railway tracks and trains going past can be heard from inside the flat when the windows are open. However the whole flat is double glazed and the windows in the bedroom are triple glazed. If the windows are shut, the noise is not an issue.
