Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Queens Park - Torbay Road

The little things

Artistic intricacies

Well-heeled Queen's Park, with its many independent cafés and boutiques, is the kind of place that raises expectations. And Torbay Road meets them, and then some. At first glance this home is classically elegant – there are polished wood floors, beautifully restored original features and glossy vintage furniture. But a closer look reveals a host of subtleties, from perfectly placed accessories, to charmingly mismatched chandeliers and a varied collection of artworks. Explore every nook at leisure, then settle on the sitting room’s sofa to peruse a particularly eye-catching display of delights with a chilled glass in hand.

An eye for detail

Your hosts love Queen's Park's arty vibe, and always enjoy returning here after one of their frequent trips to visit family in France. They carefully designed their London home to best display their artworks, including several pieces by your host and his father.

Finishing touches

Nowhere at Torbay Road is attention to detail lacking. The two smart bathrooms are both imaginatively decorated, and the kitchen’s both functional and flawlessly furnished, with a vintage dresser full of delicately patterned china, and artworks on every wall. Upstairs, each bedroom has its own distinctive character, and even the children’s room has a patterned oriental rug.

There’s undeniably much to occupy the eye within, but outside there’s one last appealing detail to discover – a garden with a lush lawn, flower-filled beds, and a private place to dine al fresco.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Queens Park

Wedged between Kilburn and Kensal Rise in the northwest corner of the capital, Queen's Park has become a byword for quiet gentrification. Two-storey Victorian villas saved from being broken up into flats in an area largely untouched by modern development attract Londoners looking for a home that's a long-term prospect, rather than somewhere to hang a temporary hat.

Local festivals include the Queen's Park Book Festival, held in May, where literary names like Marina Lewycka and Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman impart bookish and editorial astuteness. Salusbury Road is smart enough to hold shoppers' attention, but for star-studded action head to Chamberlayne Road.

For interiors, Circus Antiques stocks rakish rarities and for evening entertainment The Lexi cinema is far removed from a multiplex. As the area itself, it's cultural, clever and very much a place to proudly call home.

What makes this house unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
