The apartment is the ground floor of a historic town house where a renowned local celebrity was born in 1884. He lends its name to the street.

The apartement has been recently refurbished with simple and modern lines, keeping the original structure and vaulted ceilings 3,5meters high.

The new window frames, with double glazing and polyamide thermal break, allow a good sound insulation and reinforce the cool environment of the house. So the house did not really needs air conditioning.

Located at ground floor level, the apartment consists of a patio, living-room, two bedrooms, one with double bed and another with two single beds, one bathroom and kitchen

with all amenities and fully furnished.

Parking near the house is free and relatively easy. However, because of excellent location, car trips can be avoided.

Olhão is a completely flat city. Cycling is an alternative used by local people and also by tourists.

Two bikes are available in the house.

We also have a small fishing boat (see photo).

We may combine a tour on the Ria Formosa.

Terms of payment:

Rates for two people.

More than two persons: 10 € per day extra person.

30% deposit with booking. 30% up to 6 weeks before arrival. 40% upon arrival.

Payment by Pay Pall or any type of bank transfer without cost to the owner.

A security deposit of € 150 is charged upon check-in and will be refunded upon check-out.

Appartement très agréable et très bien situé

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour à Olhao. L'appartement est très propre, très pratique et très bien situé, il est proche de l'embarcadère pour les plages, et des halles pour acheter du poisson, des fruits, des légumes ... Le propriétaire est vraiment accueillant. Nous serons ravis d'y revenir.

Beautifully renovated apartment in charming town

We spent four nights in the apartement and enjoyed it very much. It is situated in the ground floor of an ancient town house and was renovated tastefully and with much love for details. We used the patio to barbecue and found everything we needed in the kitchen. Jorge was very attentive, helped us by printing our boarding passes and even invited us upstairs one night to show us his amazing roof terrace and let us taste some vinho verde and tapas :-) We felt very welcome!

Olhao is a nice town with a mix of a charming historic houses, few hotels and a small fishing industry. You will find good restaurants and a supermarket in walking distance. During our travelling time it was not too crowded with tourists and had a pleasantly breezy climate. You should know that the town does not have a beach. You need to take the ferry (30-45 minutes, appr. 2 Euros) to get to the offshore islands Armona and Culatra. So you need to organize your day a bit according to the ferry schedule. But we found the islands are worth the trip: surrounded by beaches, few people and very clear ocean water.

We'd love to come again some time!

Superschöne und zentrale Wohnung

Wir waren bereits das 2. Mal in Olhao, eine Verhältnismäßig touristenarme Stadt; wunderschöne, nicht sehr volle Strände auf den Inseln vor Olhao. Diese Wohnung hat uns noch besser gefallen als die im letzten Jahr, da sie komplett saniert ist, sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und superzentral gelegen. Sowohl gut gelegen zum Supermarkt als auch zum Hafen und zu den Markthallen. Die Wohnung ist außerdem recht kühl - so kann man besser schlafen in den Sommermonaten. Wir haben es geliebt Fisch und Steak in dem Innenhof zu grillen. Der Vermieter ist auch supernett, unkompliziert und hilfsbereit. Bemüht sich wirklich, dass in der Wohnung an nichts fehlt. Kommen gerne wieder.

Olhao is a small town, 8 km from Faro, Algarve capital, and 12 km from the airport. It still keeps the spirit of an old fishermen village.

Local people, very connected with the fishing world, are blended with foreign residents and sporadic visitors. They are attracted to the weather, the outstanding beaches and nature, and also because of the authentic flavour of the area.

The house is located in the historical downtown, just a few steps from the famous Fruit and Fish Markets, from supermarkets and restaurants/bars área.

You will find the typical products in the markets, seafood, fish, kitchen garden products and local fruit, and you can taste the rich regional cuisine at nearby restaurants. Or you can try to cook it in a well-equipped kitchen (barbeque included).

The house is also few minutes far from gardens, promenade, docks and piers for the nearby islands.

Also about 10 minutes from the train station where you can take the train to Faro, Fuzeta beach (10 mins) and to Tavira (20 mins).
