Guestbook comments from the owner
I am English with a Belgian father. My husband is American and has lived in the UK for 15 years. He studied cooking at the Cordon Bleu school in Paris so when we have dinner parties I am at a slight advantage. He is now an investment banker but loves France and the cuisine, so we decided to buy a place near the Cote D'Azur where we could continue to enjoy everything French. Five years after buying the villa, our children, twin daughters arrived. They are now 10. We are very conscientious about renting the villa and do everything possible to make staying at the villa a happy experience. When I stay at the villa I look around and check if there is anything that I would not like if I were renting it for a holiday. If I see anything, I put it right straight away. It is so important to receive feedback and whenever we can assist either before or during your stay we are more than happy to do so. We have a French lady who speaks English, who takes care of guests when they arrive and during their stay. However, we are here at all times to assist. We take personal pride in the villa and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The villa is spacious, clean, comfortable, well maintained and set in a stunning location with wonderful views. We could put in Persian rugs and designer sun loungers but then it would be classed as luxury and the price would go up. We prefer to keep it basic and user friendly and what you see is really what you get without any embellishments. We are discerning and we love the villa.
Location, location, location. When we decided to buy a holiday home in France we were first attracted to Nice. At the suggestion of friends who have a house near Les Adrets, we decided to take a look. We venture out of town and into the foothills above Cannes. As we drove, the noise and stress of the city left us. The air was fresh and cooling. Away from the crowds, with breath taking views, Les Adrets was a jewel in the crown. Set in the protected Massif Del Esterel, a national park of forests, rock formations and lakes, the village is unique. The sounds of nature are everywhere. As you drive towards the village and look towards the Bay of Cannes, the views are magical both day and night. The property has every practicality to suit the way of life in the South of France. Shutters on the doors and windows and stone floors keep the villa cool during the hot months. For sun worshippers, the sun terraces provide a place to relax. The private and secluded pool surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna, is a delight to cool off. In the evening you can put the lights on around the pool and enjoy a crisp glass of wine and a night swim. Sunrise and sunsets from the upper balcony are stunning, with the lights of Cannes glittering in the distance. Quiet and away from the village but only a five minute walk to the centre, it is a perfect spot to stay. Very convenient to all major attractions and away from the hustle and bustle when you need it.
The village has every convenience as well as retaining its French charm. The villa is beautiful, secluded and relaxing. The views are stunning.
If you want to be in a very comfortable villa with all the facilities one could need, and yet walk five minutes into the where you will find a bar, restaurants, supermarket, hairdresser, bakery, then this is the place for you. Another unique benefit is the friendliness of the local people that I have not experienced in such depth as in Les Adrets. Everyone says hello and young people step off of the pavement to allow older people to pass. The bakery have a fantastic selection of freshly baked bread and cakes each day that would not look out of place in Harvey Nichols. Again, the supermarket has a good selection of fine wines and the delicatessen prepares regional dishes daily that are delicious. Really, unless you want to explore and go to the beach etc, you have everything you need in the villa and the village to keep you happy for your holiday.
