Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday villa in Les-Adrets-de-l'Esterel - Villa Le Nest

3 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, one bunk bed room. Sea views

Beautiful Provençal villa nestling in the mountains overlooking views of mountains and in the distance, the Bay of Cannes. Set in a conservation area the villa is surrounded by natural beauty and within five minutes walk of Michelin star graded hiking trails.

The villa is set over three floors with three double en suite bedrooms and one bunkbed room for children. Two of the bedrooms have balconies with wonderful views of the scenery and pool. A summer kitchen leads off of the indoor kitchen affording outdoor dining by the built in barbecue. A large sitting room with comfortable sofas makes relaxing easy. Satellite+ tv and Blueray DVD player as well as a music system, all provide entertainment when not sitting around the pool on one of the many sun terraces. There is off road parking for at least four cars.

The charming village of Les Adrets is five minutes walk from the villa. There you will find a great patisserie/bakery, supermarket, hairdresser, doctor, weekly market, honey shop, tourist office, Mairie/cinema, boules arena, pharmacy, pizzeria, delicatessen, three lovely restaurants and a bar with terrace overlooking the village. There is frequent entertainment in the village square such as paella night, puppet shows, travelling circus, live music and dancing.

A ten minute drive from the villa takes you to Lake St Cassien where watersports can be enjoyed and fishing. Fifteen minutes down a beautiful road takes you to St Raphael, Frejus or Mandelieu beaches, all are delightful. Cannes is only a 20 minute drive to the centre. Nice airport is 40 minutes.

When we decided to buy a holiday home in France we were first attracted to Nice. At the suggestion of friends who have a house in Les Adrets, we decided to venture out of town and look at the foothills above Cannes. This is when fell in love with the charming village of Les Adrets. Away from the crowds, with breathtaking views, we instantly loved the area and have never looked back. Our eight year old twins have enjoyed wonderful family holidays since their arrival and we cannot think of a place we enjoy more than the unspoilt beauty of the Massif del Esterel. We hope that our home will be passed from generation to generation to enjoy. The local people are so friendly and have seen our children grow each time we visit. We go to all the events in the village and feel completely at home. There are many events in the village square such as life music and dancing, paella suppers, puppet shows for the children and a small cinema. The restaurants are all consistently good and reasonably priced. Fine wines are available and the Cote du Provence rose is a favorite of mine. If you feel like staying at the villa in the evening then the summer barbecue and kitchen make the perfect cooking area. Flame grilled fresh fish and meat from the local markets are a treat with the huge variety of salads available at Geant supermarket.

We have rented our villa through HomeAway since 2004 and have a good reputation with both them and our customers.

Jacqueline Heffernan purchased this villa in 2000

We chose this villa in particular because it was designed and built by an engineer who bought the plot of land because of the beautiful views towards the Bay of Cannes. There were plenty of other places to choose, but he chose this spot and we agree with him that it is perfect. Architecturally the house is designed to be cool when it is very hot outside. There are large wooden shutters and a veranda as well as stone floors. All of these things contribute to making the house so comfortable and cool when a rest from the sun is required. Another lovely feature are the balconies overlooking the pool, the built in barbecue/summer kitchen and the views of both the mountains and in the distance, the Bay of Cannes and the garden beyond the pool. The garden is flourish of pinks and green in the summer and the smell of jasmine perfumes the air. It truly is a magical place to lay on a sun lounger, looking at the blue pool with the birds singing in the forest and the blue sky overhead. It is like being in a tropical paradise.

The village has every convenience as well as retaining its French charm. The villa is beautiful, secluded and relaxing. The views are stunning.

If you want to be in a very comfortable villa with all the facilities one could need, and yet walk five minutes into the where you will find a bar, restaurants, supermarket, hairdresser, bakery, then this is the place for you. Another unique benefit is the friendliness of the local people that I have not experienced in such depth as in Les Adrets. Everyone says hello and young people step off of the pavement to allow older people to pass. The bakery have a fantastic selection of freshly baked bread and cakes each day that would not look out of place in Harvey Nichols. Again, the supermarket has a good selection of fine wines and the delicatessen prepares regional dishes daily that are delicious. Really, unless you want to explore and go to the beach etc, you have everything you need in the villa and the village to keep you happy for your holiday.

In respect of this wonderful holiday rental, clearly, all the previous comments that have gone before, have said it all.

Moreover, the fact that this particular Villa, has gained a 5 star rating, from all who have taken the time to write a review, says all that you need to know about this wonderful property and the surrounding area.

So I will keep it very simple and just say ...

There comes a time in every family's holidaying life, that you hope to find that one golden nugget of a holiday destination, that one perfect holiday experience and that one all providing holiday rental.

Well, take a deep breath, because when you stay at 'Villa le Nest', you will find all three!

The spaciousness of the villa together with its surounding tranquillity, beautiful views and excellent pool, make this a truly wonderful holiday retreat.

Add to this the magical ambience of Les Adrets, the Esterel and that special magic that can only be found on the Cote d' Azure and you know that you have found - a true 'hidden gem'.
Moreover, that's without even mentioning the warmth of the sun and Mediterrean sea, the food, the wine the the multitudinous markets and other places of art and interest that you can visit, as you seek to quench your thirst for that one special holiday memory that will last a lifetime.... I'll say more!

So I will finish this review by just saying ... you won't find many locations like this one. - It will deliver all that it promises and more !

So, book with every confidence and immerse yourselves in 'Villa le Nest' and the surrrounding area's bounty of suprises and riches... you won't be disappointed... : )

Excellent Holiday

The first thing that struck us about the villa was how spacious it is. The bedrooms are a good size and there is a large living room area. The villa was clean and obviously well maintained; the owners have a local agent in the village available in case you get stuck with anything. There are breath-taking views from the balcony and pool of the local countryside.

The villa itself is situated a few minutes’ walk away from the centre of the village of Les Adrets where you can pick up supplies and dine at La Table d'Amanda which is run by a an excellent French chef and his English wife. We probably ventured a bit further afield than some but Cannes, Nice and Monaco are all within driving distance and there is plenty to see in the local area.

The location of the Villa is ideal for those who want to explore the area on foot or for those who simply want to relax at the poolside in a peaceful environment.

The location of the villa is situated in a very nice little village called Les Adrets de I'Est?rel, there are several restaurants within close walking distance, the one at the bottom of the village is owned by a very nice couple which speak English and the food is great, I would recommend the steak but don't be offended if you like it well done as they may question you on this, let them cook it their way (its a lot better lol), there are plenty of amenities like a chemist, two bakeries, market, local supermarket, the village is also close to the main highways so getting places is very easy, so if you like to travel around you will not have any problems, there are also large supermarkets a short drive away so you can do a large shop. The villa is in very good condition and has all the luxuries like a pool, free wifi, TV, satellite, music system etc., one of my favourites was the undercover balcony with built in BBQ so even if it does rain (or its two hot for you) you can still sit out and enjoy the day or evening. The local area has plenty of great scenic walking adventures for you to do or you can go further adrift and explore the many valleys, mountains, old villages and towns like Cannes. This is a holiday location where you can make it as relaxing or adventurous as you like, I had a very fun and relaxing time and would recommend it to all types/ages of people. stuart

Les Adrets is a traditional French village full of atmosphere and charm. Only a short drive are the magnificent beaches of the Riviera, St Raphael, Cannes, Frejus to name a few. Roman architecture including an amazing Roman theatre and aqueduct, can be found a short drive from the villa in Frejus and St Rapahel. There is a wonderful zoo nearby and also waterpark for the children. There are five star walking trails close to the villa which are popular. Lake St Cassien is also five minutes away and is breathtaking. Watersports, sailing and rowing boats can be enjoyed on the lake as well as fishing. The glitz and nightlife of Cannes are all within easy reach and there you will find not only top class restaurants but also wonderful boutiques and shops such as Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes. St Tropez is an easy drive and there are beautiful beaches and restaurants. In the villa we have a booklet with the many attractions that are available close to the villa. There are many wonderful restaurants in the local area to the villa. If you want to walk out to dinner there are at least three good restaurants within easy walk, one of which has a beautiful terrace and another has panoramic views and is wonderful at sunset. We love Les Adrets, it is friendly and full of Provençale charm.

Les Adrets is a short journey from Nice airport. It is very easy to access off of the A8. Resorts such as St Raphael, Frejus and Cannes are all a short distance from the villa. We are in the heart of the Riviera.
