The apartment in this mews is called Chez Jay after my son. it is a much loved and luxurious property in a very cool location in Dublin. it is an oasis of calm but when you step outside you are in the centre of everything. It is a wonderful location from which to explore Dublin at day and at night. I bought this mews 19 years ago.it has been recently refurbished and done to a standard of luxury throughout . It is something that one just can't sell as it could not be bought again. The mews is secured behind electric gates. There is a private courtyard in the front. The entrance leads to a loft style living space which includes a Siematic kitchen with Gaggenau appliances. Leading from the living room are two bedrooms and bathrooms which lead out onto a private balcony to the rear. The master bedroom is on the next floor. The master bathroom has a tub,a television and a walk in shower. This bedroom leads to a private deck with an outdoor hot tub and an outdoor shower. It is great to sit in the hot tub late at night and to listen to all the sounds of the city outside. Maybe enjoy a glass of Prosecco after a day's sightseeing as you savor the evening. We are happy to provide you with that as a welcome when you arrive and in case the mood takes you.
If you visit us in the winter, we have great heat and a cozy gas fire to take the chill out of the evening.
There are televisions in all bedrooms with a full package from Sky Tv which includes Sports and Movies. In the living room there is a Bose TV and this includes a sound system suitable for use with an iPod. Fine Italian furniture furnishes the living room. The mews has been recently refurbished it to a very high standard. It is a very special place and is a much loved property. it is only available to rent to families and mature couples. This is a non smoking house but there are plenty of facilities to smoke outside. . While the price may seem high in comparison to other properties, it is reflected in the quality of the furnishings and fit out and location. I would much prefer to rent to a select few than to have it busy all the time.

We have just returned to Australia following our wonderful family trip.
I wanted to get back to you to give you feedback on our experience in Lad Lane – please feel free to use this feedback in any way you wish.
The short feedback is that the entire experience was exceptional. The apartment is stunning – incredible location, beautiful renovated and fitted out to perfection – all completed to the highest standards.
It worked really well for our family of 6. The living area was really comfortable, welcoming and an area one was drawn to. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully fitted out – you should be very proud of what you have accomplished.
Our experience prior to arrival was also excellent. You were easy, clear, efficient and straightforward to deal with. I appreciated that. Thank you for arranging for Paul to have the keys to meet our two oldest children at the airport. He was excellent and could not have been more helpful. It made everything easy.
Mairead, it was a joy to stay in Lad Lane – I will/have certainly let others know what a great place it is and hopefully we can return one day.
We had a large group and rented both the downstairs and upstairs apartments; both units were beautifully appointed, stocked with everything you need. From the photos it's hard to tell if each bedroom has a door or if it's more of a loft-style, but each room is completely private. The second floor apartment (the larger of the two) has two bedrooms on the main floor, each with it's own bath. One bedroom has a door to the hall bathroom (we locked the door to the hall so it became a private bath) and the other has it's own private bath. The top floor bedroom has a private bath, with a shower and separate jacuzzi tub, and french doors leading to a roof deck with hot tub. Absolutely stunning! The basement apartment is equally wonderful, and both are beautifully decorated. To top it off, most sites of interest in Dublin are within walking distance, or you can walk to public transportation. I highly recommend Chez Jay, I wish I was still there!
This is a luxurious apartment that makes you feel as if you are staying in a 5 star hotel without the down side of feeling the constant need to tip the help. It has all the amenities including heated granite bathroom floors and towel racks that almost make you feel like staying in while everything you want to do and see in Dublin is within easy walking distance. Easy walk to some of the best Irish pubs on offer in the city and also some wonderful restaurants. If you do want to stay in for dinner one night there is a wonderful japanese/chinese/thai restaurant a few doors down while a night out at Peploe's or Bang provided upscale dining experiences.
Of course Doheny and Nesbit Pub is also an easy stroll and lots of Irish music was on offer there and at nearby O'donahue's where the Dubliners got their start.
Recommend this apartment with no reservations as a terrific place to vacation.
Everything about Chez Jay was fabulous. We arrived late in the evening from California after a long journey with our 3 month old. Paul was waiting for us at arrivals. He loaded up all our massive amounts of luggage (travel cot, stroller, suitcases etc) and had us all settled into the a beautiful place. The flat is impressively equipped from the kitchen to the excellent hairdryers in the bedrooms. We were traveling with family and close friends some of which stayed in hotels, yet we always gathered here and had some wine and good conversation before going our for a bit to eat. It was a beautiful place to enjoy a nice quiet breakfast along with excellent coffee from the nespresso machine. The location of the mews was wonderful. you are steps from great restaurants, super markets, hairdressers etc. you feel totally secure with a full alarm system,, and secure gates. We can't wait to go back next year and would recommend this place without hesitation. Thank you to Paul for all his help with transfers, recommendations and also not laughing when I could figure out how to work the TV :)
This location has already been positively reviewed numerous time. I'm not sure there is more I can add. Paul, who met us and oriented us to the place, was so helpful. Having him there to point out how various things worked was much appreciated. Communication during the entire process was superb. We arrived right after Christmas through New Year's and they had a tree up, which was a lovely extension of our holiday cheer.
Despite being so beautifully decorated, it really was kid friendly. We could walk to Grafton St., St. Stephen's Green, the kids loved the Natural History Museum and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Plenty more to do that we didn't have time for~
The three bedrooms were comfortable and the entire place clean and modern. Though we've been home a few weeks, our kids still mention our time there! We look forward to returning!
This property was exactly as described in the listing with everything one could ask for in a holiday rental. It is obviously a much loved property which is beautifully maintained. Much care has been taken with every detail down to the Molten Brown bath products provided. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here and I will certainly stay there again when next I am in Dublin
Our family visited Ireland as our son was studying at Trinity. The flat is superb - extremely comfortable and well provisioned. The location is excellent as it is within walking distance to everything that city centre provides but also embedded within a neighborhood. Mairead (owner) was very easy to deal with and has shown great care with the property and her guests. Our lodging made our trip that much better.
This mews building is set in the heart of Georgian Dublin. There are two apartments in this building , a three bedroom and a two bedroom. It was built in 1792 and was originally the stables of one of the great houses in Fitzwilliam Square. It is within short walking distance of great restaurants, pubs, the Shelbourne and the Merrion Hotels and Grafton Street. It is very close to the National Art Gallery and Government buildings. Ireland’s finest Michelin star restaurants are all within easy walking distance. While the area is quiet, there is a real sense of being in the centre of everything. There are lovely walks along the canal and in the parks of Merrion Square and St Stephens Green.
