About Jenny Martin

The Martin family, originally from Manchester, have holidayed on the North Wales coast since the railways, and in Bodorgan every year since the 1920's!

Jenny Martin purchased this bungalow in 1963

Why Jenny Martin chose Malltraeth

Built in 1963 on a pair of small fields with the best views to Snowdonia and across Malltraeth Sands and the Bodorgan Estate. It is a purpose built holiday house, and an example of cutting edge architecture of its time.

What makes this bungalow unique

It is a spacious bright and airy house with fantastic views, a very private and quiet position, a brilliant base for rural and coastal walks, beaches and birdwatching. It retains many original 1960's period features, sympathetically modernised with central heating (originally electric underfloor heating) and mostly double glazing with some original opening metal windows. Designed by the celebrated architect Brian Lingard.

large Comfy house in an idyllic location!

  • 5 out of 5
We spent a wonderfully relaxing few days at this lovely house and look forward to returning very soon! We were a party of seven, and found the house to be beautifully clean bright and very comfortable. The sitting room which has fabulous views over the Estuary/mountains is very spacious with several large very comfortable sofas, and the evenings were cosy with the glow from the open fire. The kitchen is an excellent size and well equipped for large family gatherings. We all slept well in the very comfortable beds and peaceful surroundings. The terrace is perfect for relaxing with a drink in the warmth of the early evening sun!
We would highly recommend this comfortable house as an ideal base for exploring the many beautiful nearby beaches and stunning walks.

Brilliant location!

  • 3 out of 5
Overall impression of the property was great on arrival but unfortunately I was gutted when I went into the property. Living room curtains so full of dust and were shredding with age and when we tried to pull them the dust that flew out was awful. The paint in one of the toilets was very poor and because of the damp it was all flaking thus making the bedroom this toilet was attached too smell really damp. the windows throughout were all flaking paint and there were dead flies on nearly all of the window sills and crisps down the back of the couches which was dreadful as my first call was for the hoover. Could be a brilliant property it just needs a good clean new windows and a lick of paint,,,, attention to detail is required.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments, I agree, the house is great. You have also had some problems due to using beds in the converted garage to sleep in, not just the 5 main bedrooms for your party of 7. We have now changed the old curtains which had become ripped and apologise for the cleaners missing some items - which comes as a surprise as they have been excellent all year.

Stunning views and the perfect retreat!

  • 5 out of 5
This was the first time we had visited Anglesey and what a pleasure to be staying here, it certainly won’t be our last. The location is fantastic, just 15 minutes from Bangor and situated right on the edge of the estuary.

The house is really comfy with loads of space inside and out, all overlooking the fantastic scenery of the mountains and estuary. The sitting room is fantastic, open fire and a very well equipped kitchen.

Overall, a comfy, spacious and practical holiday home. Easy to fall in love with this place!

ps, Make sure you nip up to the village store for the freshly baked bread - Its fantastic in the mornings!

The house has spectacular views overlooking the famous Bodorgan Estate in the beautiful South West of Anglesey, towards Lllandwyn Island and Lighthouse, Newborough Forest and the Snowdonia mountain range. The best beaches (Newborough and Aberffraw) are a short drive away, the national trust property Plas Newydd and the Anglesey Sea Zoo provide family entertainment, and its 5 miles to Anglesey's race track Trac Mon. The sailing centres of Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay are a short trip up the coast, and the vast Malltraeth estuary is a walkers and birdwatching haven just a five minute walk down a quiet lane.
