Typical Scottish shooting lodge for large groups of families, stag groups and outdoor enthusiasts sleeping up to 14 adults and 4 children. Basic but comfortable accommodation over two floors, mostly carpeted but some with wooden flooring. Warmed in the cooler months by log fires and oil central heating. Within private grounds, in a rural setting not far from the A9 (main arterial road linking the north to the south).

We offer a personal, bespoke service and our small team of staff personally inspect all of the properties we advertise.

Perfectly situated in the central highlands, with reasonable driving distance from either Edinburgh (south) or Inverness (north) airports. Day trips to distilleries, castles, Pitlochry, House of Bruar and other visitor attractions. Great hill walking, fishing and golfing amenities nearby.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA

This is “Monarch of the Glen” country, famous for its fine scenery and shinty. For those wishing to watch shinty, then games can be seen in the village at the Eilan. For golfers there is the excellent golf course in Newtonmore, and at Kingussie or Boat of Garten. The funicular railway is a superb way to enjoy the Cairngorms and in winter, there is fine skiing available. For activities, there are many outdoor centres or activity companies, from clay-pigeon shooting to rafting. The Laggan Wolftrax centre is perfect for mountain biking. The river Spey is nearby and permits are available locally for salmon and trout fishing. Dalwhinnie Distillery, is a must for all whisky enthusiasts. Aviemore has further excellent outdoor activity centres for water and hill based sports for all the family. For shopping, there is the internationally renowned House of Bruar.

Use of car hire is essential, to discover the true beauty of the surrounding areas.

For those flying into Scotland, the closest airport to this property is Inverness 55 miles away and hiring a car or 4WD couldn’t be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at Inverness.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.

Trains these days can also be an extremely accessible and pleasurable means of transport into Scotland for individuals and groups alike. All the major railway stations have car hire companies located in situ, enabling the transition from carriage to car to be as stress free as possible. The sleeper train can be caught from London to Inverness, but takes approximately twelve hours and car hire can be easily arranged for your arrival, requiring approximately an hours?? drive for the remainder of your journey. The closest train station to the property is Newtonmore only four miles away.
