This is a compact version of a traditional hunting lodge set within its own private grounds, surrounded by glens with a view down Loch Etive. The area is abundant with wildlife and red deer can be seen grazing in the garden at dusk or dawn.”
Simply furnished in a comfortable style, this traditional lodge offers a tastefully furnished holiday house in an amazing setting. Within, there is a comfortable sitting room with an open fire, and a small study area for a bit of peace and quiet if required. The dining room can seat up to 10 adults and the functional kitchen is next door. There is a rod room, for any fishers requiring space for their equipment, though it can store mountain bikes or other equipment. There is also “cook??s quarters” on the ground floor, with a simple bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom. Upstairs the accommodation consists of two double bedrooms and three twin bedrooms with two bathrooms. There are delightful private grounds around the house, with parking for many cars available. Access from the Glencoe area is 9 miles down the single track public road before you arrive to the house, which is hidden from view from the road. This property is ideal for an activity based holiday and for those wishing to see the Scottish hills and glens in their full glory.
WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
Known as the “outdoor capital of the Highlands�����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������, due to the geography of this region and has become a huge hit for mountain bikers, climbers, canoeists and walkers. The nearby Glencoe Mountain Resort offers in summer, mountain biking (Downhill and XC), archery, orienteering, hill-walking, climbing, chairlift rides, photography, trail building, guided walks and home cooked food in the log cabin cafe. In winter, skiing, snowboarding, sledging and avalanche rescue training are available. 19 runs across 7 lifts, catering for skiers and boarders of all levels, including the longest and steepest runs in Scotland. For those wishing to fish, loch and sea fishing is available. Fort William has many shops and restaurants, as well as the Ben Nevis Distillery and for golfers there is an excellent 18-hole golf course.
