Palazzo dei Fiori is a suite of apartments located in a lovely historic palazzo. The apartments are recently updated in a beautiful style of traditional and antique Italian furnishings updated with modern touches.
The palazzo has an unbeatable location in a quiet little courtyard, just 100 meters from Via Santa Croce, one of the main streets that bisects the center of town. Since you will be right in the center of town, you are a 3-5 minute walk from 3 small grocers, 5 or 6 cafes, the main cathedral, 10 restaurants, and a number of shops. It doesn't get more central than this!
Each apartment features TV, WiFi, refrigerator, cooktop, new cookware, and all dishes and utensils. Bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and are furnished with all new 160 thread count 100% cotton linens, down and / or synthetic filled duvets, and your choice of synthetic or down pillows. Bathrooms are beautifully decorated in red marble tile with skylights and are equipped with a shower or bathtub, sink, toilet, and bidet.
Taken from a guest who stayed with us through AirBNB:
Dear Vanessa and Chelsea
It has been a great pleasure to stay in the studio with the super lovely location. It was all very easy and convenient to everything. The loft was cozy and even though my husband is 1.92 meters, it was no problem with the height of the bedroom. It has been very nice to stay at your little apartment in the beautiful surroundings.
Our visit to Lucca was made special even before we made our reservation.
When we inquired about an apartment, Vanessa helped us find a place that would fit all our needs. She was responsive to our questions and she even offered to help us with a hotel in another city when we had trouble communicating with the proprietor.
After we arrived in Lucca, she was waiting for us near the apartment to orient us to the amenities of the apartment and best shops in the neighborhood.
Vanessa provided us with all her favorite places in Lucca and beyond. We took a cooking class with Chef Paolo Monti in Carignano on her suggestion (a highlight of our trip.) And she pointed us to the best Gelato place in town…Gelato Anfiteatro. YUM!
Mignon apartment was the right size for us, it was airy and light and had a kitchen that made us feel at home.
And who provides fresh flowers and wine for such a short stay? It was these special touches that endeared us to Lucca. I want to go back!
Appartamento Mignon is a gem! As described in the overview, the location is primo. This cute little apartment has all the conveniences of home - from the well-stocked kitchenette to the comfortable bed - which made it relaxing to "come home" after a day's explorations. Vanessa & Chelsea were outstanding ladies to work with; both responded to emails promptly as well as answered questions during our stay. The recommendations they shared about Lucca & the surrounding area were very helpful. The apartment is truly wonderful!
(I posted the following review on Airbnb, where I originally booked the apartment. We had such a lovely and positive experience that I wanted to re-post it here as well).
My husband and I spent for lovely days in Lucca and absolutely loved our stay in Vanessa's studio. The studio is exactly as advertised: such a cozy and sweet space, right in the heart of town, close to everything. A wonderful place to call home after a day's wanderings in a beautiful town.
For those interested in the height of the space, the ceiling in the sleeping space is low (as advertised, and as Vanessa makes sure to mention in her correspondence). For reference, I am 5"4' and could stand upright with the very top of my head just shy of touching the ceiling above the bed. My husband, who is 6"3' definitely had to be a little cautious when entering/exiting the loft, but did just fine! The main floor of the studio was tall enough of both of us to be perfectly comfortable.
We: our hosts. I've had only very positive experiences with apartment hosts, but our experience with Vanessa and Chelsea was truly exceptional. They were both extremely thoughtful and communicative and flexible with us: answering emails and inquiries promptly (seemingly instantly, in fact!), accommodating our earlier-than-planned arrival time, meeting us at the train station, providing a very handy list/map of the local treasures of the town. Thank you both of making our stay so memorable and enjoyable!
Lucca itself is charming and lovely, and gloriously uncrowded compared to many parts of Tuscany (even in the height of tourist season July). Wandering the town is a pleasure, and biking along the walls is a must. Highly recommended all around!
We have traveled to many beautiful countries, so when I say that Lucca was a definite FAVE, that means a lot!
Before we even arrived, Vanessa was over-the-top helpful. She answered all of my questions about the apartment quickly, and in great detail, but then went on to offer advice on other parts of our Italy trip. When she learned that I have many food allergies, she contacted her friend that owns a charming restaurant (Vispa Theresa) in Lucca and arranged a special, off-menu dinner for me. All of us agreed that their food was among some of our very favorite in Italy.
When we first arrived in Lucca, Vanessa's friend Chelsea met us at our parking lot and walked us to the apartment. On the way, she made some recommendations, which turned out to be fantastic--best gelato, best paninni, best bike rentals, and more. She was available by phone in case anything came up, but her intro was so thorough that nothing ever did.
When we walked into the 800-year-old apartment, it was like walking into a gorgeous movie complete with flowering vines climbing past the oversized windows that looked out onto a sunny courtyard. One morning, a neighbor even called "buonjiorno" from her balcony. How authentic!
The apartment was immaculate--the beds made with clean, fresh linens, the windows dressed with crisp, white-lace curtains, the kitchen stocked with everything we could possibly need, the air-conditioning worked quickly and efficiently. Its location was super convenient which meant we could easily stop back at home base between site-seeing and meals, or to drop off purchases.
We were originally planning to do a couple of day-trips from Lucca, but there was so much to see and do there, and we were so comfortable, that we did not end up leaving during our 3-night stay!
We are all looking forward to returning to Italy, specifically to Lucca. We will absolutely contact Vanessa and stay at one of her apartments when we do!
This loft apartment was perfect for my 3 night stay in Lucca. It is very clean and well maintained. There is an elevator if you have heavy luggage, and/or have trouble walking three flights of stairs.
When I travel in Europe, it is essential for me to have a nice size bed, and a proper shower. I'm not a little guy... :-) This apartment had both. The only drawback was the ceiling in the loft bedroom. If you're tall you will have to keep your head lower. However, it really wasn't a big deal, because I didn't spend much time in the bedroom besides sleeping.
Lucca is a very walkable city. The apartment is pretty centrally located, and very close to the main street and sites. I would definitely stay at this apartment again.
This apartment's enviable location makes it ideal for exploring all that Lucca has to offer. Since it is located in the physical center of the historic center, all of Lucca is no more than a few minutes away on foot. From here you can explore the amazing boutique shops that line Via Santa Croce and nearby Via Fillungo, visit the city's museums, theaters and concert halls, eat at any of the dozens of excellent local restaurants, and, of course, go for a leisurely stroll on the city's astonishing (and enormous) city walls. Being flat, Lucca is very bike-friendly and bikes (and pedal-cars) are inexpensive to rent for the day at any of a number of local shops.
Lucca is also the perfect city to explore all of Tuscany. Lucca uniquely combines an important mix of ingredients that we believe you'll find nowhere else in Tuscany. Its location is perfect for exploration: 30 minutes from the Leaning Tower and Pisa International, 20 minutes from the beaches of Viareggio, 45 minutes from the mountains, 60 minutes by train to Florence, and an easy 1-2 hour drive to Siena, Volterra, and the rest of Tuscany.
