Palazzo dei Fiori is a suite of apartments located in a lovely historic palazzo. The apartments are recently updated in a beautiful style of traditional and antique Italian furnishings updated with modern touches.
The palazzo has an unbeatable location in a quiet little courtyard, just 100 meters from Via Santa Croce, one of the main streets that bisects the center of town. Since you will be right in the center of town, you are a 3-5 minute walk from 3 small grocers, 5 or 6 cafes, the main cathedral, 10 restaurants, and a number of shops. It doesn't get more central than this!
Each apartment features TV, WiFi, refrigerator, cooktop, new cookware, and all dishes and utensils. Bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and are furnished with all new 160 thread count 100% cotton linens, down and / or synthetic filled duvets, and your choice of synthetic or down pillows. Bathrooms are beautifully decorated in red marble tile with skylights and are equipped with a shower or bathtub, sink, toilet, and bidet.
We arrived for our stay at Apartment Jacopo after being in a rather rustic villa in Assisi.
Thank goodness for the ambiance, location, cleanliness and comfort of Jacopo!
Spacious rooms, fully equipped kitchen, skylights in the bathrooms, up-lighting to brighten each floor and room, silky sheets, comfortable bed and a washing machine. Coming home to Lucca and Jacopo after long days of touring was wonderful. And, the apartment manager, Vanessa, is an angel. Very attentive and available. We would highly recommend this apartment.
We stayed 5 nights in the Apartment Jacopo after short stays in Florence and Cinque Terre. Vanessa couldn't have provided better customer service, helping us plan our stay before we arrived and leaving us in Chelsea's capable hands during our time in Lucca. Chelsea kindly met us at the train station and showed us to and around the apartment. Jacopo is even more stunning in reality than in the photos, very typically old-style Italian with modern comforts and homely elegance. There are gorgeous views from every window. We loved relaxing there in between exploring beautiful Lucca. Vanessa's tips for where to shop for groceries, bread and gelato, the best local eateries, cycle hire etc were invaluable. We cycled the city walls and to the aqueduct and river outside them, walked around Lucca, enjoyed the Puccini opera recital at the church in which he was baptised a short walk away, and spent a half day learning to make pasta and sauces with Chef Paolo Monti at his Cucina Italiana a taxi ride away in the countryside. Overall, a perfect Italian break. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment and would love to go back there. Many thanks Vanessa.
My husband and I were visiting Italy for the first time and stayed here for 5 nights. We couldn't have been more delighted with the apartment and the hospitality of the hosts. This apartment is conveniently located in the heart of Lucca. We had a ball exploring the town and had everything at our fingertips. We also found it to be a great launching point for day tripping to cinque terre. The apartment exceeded expectations, just lovely!
We had a wonderful time in the Jacopo apartment with our 2 daughters. The apartment was just what we had hoped for and such a beautiful location in an interior courtyard but just steps away from everything. The linens, furniture, kitchen equipment (gorgeous rustic kitchen), bathrooms were impeccable and the building has such charm. Vanessa was the finest of hosts. She met us at the train station (even with lots of bags as we were going to south of France for sabbatical) and brought us to the flat. She gave of great tips of what to see and especially recommended a trattoria we fell in love with. We went there every night. Our girls loved riding tandem bikes on the Lucca wall and exploring this really wonderful city. Vanessa even came over one day with ice coffee and another day with cookies make our stay even more pleasant. We highly recommend a stay in the Jacopo apartment and would go back in a heart beat.
It was the most enjoyable part of our trip to Italy! My family and I were very comfortable in this great apartment ,very clean and very nicely decorated. And Vanessa couldn't have been more helpful, with lots of advice about Lucca's best restaurants and places to see. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Lucca and staying in this apartment again.
Both Vanessa and the apartment were perfect. We picked Lucca as our home base without knowing a lot about the area, and thought it was a perfect place to see Tuscany, central to Pisa, Cinque Terre, and Florence. After hearing about all the wonderful things to see and do just in Lucca we decided to save Pisa and Florence for our next trip. The apartment was immaculate, the charm and history of the place was very unique, and had been preserved even through the addition of all the modern conveniences, elevator, bathrooms heating and AC etc. We tried a number of Vanessa's recommendations for food and shopping as well and all were excellent. With her fluency in the language she has gotten to know not only the places but the people which made us feel welcome each time we told someone who recommended the place to us.
Our only regret was that we only stayed for three days. We strongly recommend the apartment, and while three days would be great, 4-7 days would be ideal.
Bicycling around the top of the walled city is definitely a must do.
This apartment's enviable location makes it ideal for exploring all that Lucca has to offer. Since it is located in the physical center of the historic center, all of Lucca is no more than a few minutes away on foot. From here you can explore the amazing boutique shops that line Via Santa Croce and nearby Via Fillungo, visit the city's museums, theaters and concert halls, eat at any of the dozens of excellent local restaurants, and, of course, go for a leisurely stroll on the city's astonishing (and enormous) city walls. Being flat, Lucca is very bike-friendly and bikes (and pedal-cars) are inexpensive to rent for the day at any of a number of local shops.
Lucca is also the perfect city to explore all of Tuscany. Lucca uniquely combines an important mix of ingredients that we believe you'll find nowhere else in Tuscany. Its location is perfect for exploration: 30 minutes from the Leaning Tower and Pisa International, 20 minutes from the beaches of Viareggio, 45 minutes from the mountains, 60 minutes by train to Florence, and an easy 1-2 hour drive to Siena, Volterra, and the rest of Tuscany.
