Clare Dudley purchased this cottage in 1990
Why Clare Dudley chose Burford
High Ridge has been our family home for over 20 years. My two son's grew up here enjoying the uniquely friendly village that is Milton-Under-Wychwood. Two years ago we moved to a house in the next village & completely renovated High Ridge. I feel that the Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful places in the UK & wanted to offer a beautiful house for guests to come and enjoy the area.
What makes this cottage unique
I fell in love with the Wychwoods when driving through on my way to work. A friend told me that High Ridge was for sale but it was in a very sorry state with ivy climbing through the windows and water pouring through the roof.
But the house had a wonderful feel and when we moved in and lit the fire it came alive and felt like a real home! The low beams and cotswold stone walls create a very cosy feel. More recently we replaced the old extension and I dare you not to say WOW when you see the the new spacious luxury kitchen/dining area opening out into the garden! It's the kitchen I always dreamt of with an island and breakfast bar and bi-fold doors opening into the pretty garden!
