Overview

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Yarmouth - Highfield

Spacious 5 bedroom, 3 Bathroom providing comfortable accommodation for 10

Recently modernised and equipped to a high standard, the open plan layout has underfloor heating to the ground floor and radiators upstairs provide comfortable accommodation in 5 well-proportioned bedrooms. Set on three levels Highfield takes full advantage of its enviable rural location. The entrance at the middle level brings you to the centre of the house with a wide glass sided staircase taking you up to the first floor or down three steps to the main reception area.

The spacious lounge and dining room area provides plenty of room for ten people to dine and relax in comfort. You can enjoy Freetime Freesat TV, watch a film from our DVD library, have some fun playing a tune on our baby grand piano, or sit by the wood burning stove on a winter night. You can access the internet on our wifi or simply look out to the downs across open farmland from the large south facing windows, which flood the room with sunlight. The galleried landing to the first floor overlooks the main sitting area, and contains the library area with plenty of books, DVDs, and local tourist information. French doors lead into the adjacent high ceilinged conservatory with another dining table and seating. The conservatory has double doors out to a decked area and the garden with a large picnic table that will accommodate ten people. A charcoal barbecue is available for cooking on warm summer days and nights. For those occasional wet days we have a small pool table and a table tennis table in the garage to keep the children entertained.

A further set of doors lead from the conservatory to the newly fitted luxury kitchen. The central feature is a large island unit with an induction hob and hood over, a range of tall units incorporate the fridge/freezer, pull-out larder, built-in microwave and electric oven, and a long u-shaped worktop provides plenty of workspace, with a built in dishwasher and sink unit under the kitchen window which overlooks then next door field. A door leads through to a utility room with washing a machine, condensing dryer, and access to the garden and clothes line.

One twin bedroom and one double, both with en suite showers, lead from the entrance hall, there is also a separate cloakroom with toilet and washbasin. A further twin room is just three steps down at lounge level just off the main dining area. The staircase takes you up to the large galleried landing. On this level there is a third twin bedroom with views towards Tennyson Down, the newly fitted family bathroom which has a bath with a separate overhead shower and toilet, and next to this is the generously proportioned master bedroom. This delightful room has its own en suite with a large walk-in shower, basin and toilet. The morning sun shines through the window overlooking the adjacent countryside, a set of French doors open onto a balcony overlooking the top part of the conservatory, with a wrought iron spiral staircase taking you down to the ground floor.

Highfield is a contemporary split level detached property with glorious views over the beautiful West Wight countryside. Wellow is a small rural village just three miles from the historic town of Yarmouth with its shops, pubs, restaurants and ferry to the mainland. Facing south on elevated ground, with a field on one side and a footpath on the other, the house is spacious, bright and sunny, perfect for rest and relaxation.

About Keith Passmore

Highfield was our family home until 2007, when my wife and I moved to Yarmouth.

Keith Passmore purchased this house in 1986

What makes this house unique

Facing south with open farmland views, the house was specifically designed to take full advantage of its sunny aspect. It has a very large two storey conservatory to enjoy the sun when it is too cold to sit outside.

A wonderful stay in a wonderful house

  • 5 out of 5
We are a group of 9 adults and 5 children. The house was very pleasant, clean and spacious. The weather of our trip weren't great, however there were plenty to do at the house. The children enjoyed it as much as the adults. Keith responds to email very quickly and have been really helpful with information, etc. Would recommend to anyone.
