This 8,000 metre estate is one of the few examples left from a more splendid age which Tenerife knew when the Island was a paradise known only to a few Europeans. The 'finca' has outstanding views of Teide, the sea and the Oratava Valley. Its situation is excellent for travelling to other parts of the island as it is close to the motorway yet only a few minutes from the beach and the centre of Puerto de la Cruz. Close to the finca is to be found one of the best restaurants in the area. Although the origins of the finca dates to the XV1th century, the house itself dates back to the early XXth century. It is an elegant house with large rooms which have been carefully maintained. Mainly traditional furniture. The tropical gardens are a special feature with charming and secluded corners where one can relax with a book or merely admire the scenery. For the more energetic there is a tennis court with tennis racquets available free of charge, a swimming pool, a sauna, all set in lush vegetation with fruit trees. These facilities are shared amongst the 5 houses. This spacious house stretches over two floors with access to a rooftop terrace. Enjoy meals at the long dinner table on the ground floor, or on the outside patio in front of the kitchen. The master bedroom with its wide screen windows is the most special bedroom of the house – you may have to toss a coin. For sunbathing in private use the small rooftop terrace. From the roofs tower platform enjoy a spectacular 360° view over the Orotava valley and the Atlantic Ocean

My name is Ana B. Reid. I live in Tenerife and I have been many years receiving clients on this spectacular finca, doubtless the most spectacular one I have seen in Tenerife. Its proximity to Puerto de la Cruz makes it a comfortable place to stay. I know the area very well and I give all the guests very useful information about beaches, restaurants, and must on this side of the island, where you can find 80% of the Tourist Attractions. I also have a lot of experience with tourist, as I studied Business Administration at University, I was selected to participate on the exchange students programme with Manchester University and a Master on Leisure and Tourist industry. Afte my studies, I worked in several companies until March 99, when I started her own project with a company specialising on Tenerife and called Tenerife Country Villas, getting the Tourist License from Gobierno (Goverment) de Canarias. Coming from an English family, I perfectly understand the wishes and hobbies of our European visitors, and being a Tenerife native, I have real information about the island, such as access to any subject which might interest my clients. Welcome to Tenerife!

We have had many clients here and this holiday house is always improving. All our clients come again or recommend it to our friends, which is the guarantee that it is working well. It is a very quiet property, although it has very easy communications everywhere. It has a restaurant with garden only 30 metres from the house that we highly recommend. the elegance of this house is everywhere: on the pergola with views, on the picturesque chapel with many stories behind and the extremely ample spaces.

Having a Tennis court is a great advantage, also having a sauna. The pool is heated up to 24ºC and it is a large one, ideal if you like swimming. On the other hand, it has daily cleaning service from Monday to Friday, which is definitely a must. There are only 5 houses on the finca, which guarantees the privacy considering the property is 8000 m2!

STUNNING PROPERTY, AMAZING VIEWS AND FACILITIES

We are a family of four (2 young children) and this is without doubt one of the best properties we have used for our holidays. From our initial enquiry to Ana, through to the completion of our stay, Ana, Lucy and the on-site team looked after us extremely well and enabled us to enjoy every minute of our time in Tenerife.

There are five rental properties sharing the superb facilities of tennis court, sauna and swimming pool, as well as 8,000m2 gardens (tended by on-site gardeners daily). The pool is a nice temperature, the court is full size, and the entire property is safe and secure for children with locked gates and walled gardens.

Don't be put off by the proximity to the motorway, it really is not noticeable.

There are some great local Canarian restaurants and other useful facilities nearby.

We will definitely be back in the future.

GOOD MEMORIES

We stayed with my 20 year-old son and his girlfriend in the 2-bedroom house.

Everything was as advertised. The grounds were glorious and the view from the back terrace down to the coast splendid.

We all loved the decent-sized pool and made good use of the tennis court which is excellent.

Located just off the motorway which can be heard in the garden when the wind is in the wrong direction but not usually noticeable.

Scrupulously clean throughout and assistance always at hand if necessary. We shared basin plugs but I'm sure further supplies would be available if requested!

I think this property might well be a 'hidden gem' and represents very good value.

IMMACULATE SPACIOUS FINCA

We had a lovely time at Finca el Drago. We stayed in the two bed finca and it was superb. The rooms are really spacious with high ceilings and amazing views from the terraces down to the sea and up to the mountain. The place was kept in immaculate condition with daily cleaning staff and a couple of gardeners on site every day. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, new tennis balls and racquets supplied for free and they even turned the temperature on the pool up for us when I explained that it was a little too cold for our 3 year old boy! Loads of things to do in the area. Would recommend the lago martianez water park, the loro park and a visit to the town of La Orotava. The loro park in particular was first class with all sorts of animals to see and spectacular orca and dolphin shows. Would also recommend a trip to the charming coastal town of Garachico with it's sea water pools and seafront cafes.
We will be back!

The main characteristic of the houses is that they are extremely ample. For example, the Two bedroom house is 70 m2, the Two bedroom house is 150 m2 ! Very rare to find, like the Tennis court. BEAUTIFUL GARDENS IN A PRIVILEGED PLACE

Dear Ana,

We were sorry to leave the Finca because it was perfect! Our little house was just right for us (and so well-maintained) and the gardens were wonderful. We were so well looked after by Lucy and all the other staff, who were all very kind.

We really want to return again, though it is a little too early to know when it will be possible.

Orotava is charming and we loved walking around it. We shall certainly keep your contact address and will be back one day. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

WONDERFUL STAY AT FINCA EL DRAGO!

Clean, well equipped kitchen, wifi worked well, nice heated swimmingpool, wonderful garden, enjoyed the tennis court every day. Rental car is recommended. Do not miss the nearest Guachinche El Ramal within walking distance. A must is to go by car to Taganana and have fresh fish, papas arrugadas with mojo rojo for lunch at Bar Africa by the ocean. Would recommend this Finca to everyone who want to stay at the north side of the island, but still away from the city noice. The motorway close by does not disturb at all.
