Sleeps Up To 12. A 6 Bedroom, 6 Bathroom Period House With Stunning Sea Views

This house is a large and well equipped Victorian town house arranged over four floors. It has just undergone an 18 month major renovation including new bathrooms, kitchen, heating, decoration etc.

We have just put the finishing touches to the property and we hope the pictures give a flavour of the high standard to which the the property has been renovated.

The house sleeps up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms. However the house is arranged so that it is also possible to be used as 2 fully separate units:

Firstly, a 2 bedroom apartment, complete with 2 ensuite shower rooms, a large open plan sitting room/kitchen and a small self contained rear courtyard.

Secondly, a 4 bedroom house with 2 ensuite shower rooms a family bathroom and further shower room and cloakroom. The house also enjoys a large dining room opening into a modern kitchen, a large and elegant first floor sitting room (with covered verandah and sea views) and a separate family TV and games room, which opens out to the rear garden.

There is an full internal staircase which links the house when used as a whole but which can be locked off top and bottom when the apartment is not rented with the main house.

As well as a generous first floor living room, there is a well appointed kitchen leading into the dining room and a large ground floor play room. French doors lead out from this room and the kitchen into the sunny rear courtyard where there is further seating to enjoy!

The house has been furnished to a very high standard and is large and spacious, able to sleep up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms. It is designed to appeal to:

It is not suitable for stag/hen weekends or for groups under the age of 25.

Practicalities

Please note that the property is laid out over 4 floors with the sitting room on the 1st floor.

There are steps up to both the front door and down to the door to the lower ground floor apartment

The house is well equipped for children of all ages and there are two travel cots to use during your stay. In addition, there is a highchair, booster seats and toys suitable for toddlers, which means that you don’t need to completely fill the car with babies’ or children’s bits and pieces!

For older children, there are games and puzzles as well as a separate ground floor family room equipped with large flat screen TV, video and games console. The room is tucked away at the rear of the house and has its own access into the rear garden

Living Space

Main Living room - This high ceilinged sitting room is at the front of the house, on the first floor. It is a bright and spacious room with superb sea views and French doors leading to the verandah. It is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs providing a relaxing place to unwind.

The room also has the benefit of a large screen TV, DVD player, and hifi system with Ipod dock.

Family Room - There is also a separate family room on the ground floor which comes equipped with large flat screen TV, video player, games console and sofa. There is also a table football and surround sound hifi system with ipod dock

Kitchen & Dining

For many, one of the main hearts of a house is the kitchen. This is certainly so at the Beach House, with the spacious modern kitchen providing the hub and connecting to the equally spacious dining room through large double doors. The kitchen is well equipped and includes:

Gaggia automatic espresso coffee machine

Food processor, toaster and kettle

Microwave oven

Large American style fridge freezer with automatic ice maker and separate wine & beer compartment

There is also a plentiful supply of pots pans utensils bowls etc to ensure that you really can cook almost anything during your stay.

Outside there is an outdoor table and chairs to ensure that you can make the most of warm and balmy days on the coast.

Adjoining the kitchen and accessed via interconnecting double doors is the dining room. This room has a large modern table which seats 12 people comfortably. There is also sufficient crockery cutlery serving dishes and glasses to accommodate even the largest groups

Kids & Equipment

With 3 children of our own, we know how stressful holidays can become if the children’s requirements are not met. We also know how difficult it can be to travel with everything needed, particularly for toddlers and babies.

That’s why we have tried to include a variety of things to make your stay easy. As well as the well equipped family room, you will also find (if you need them):

Welcome to our family friendly holiday home. With 3 children of our own, we understand what makes the difference on holiday and so we have equipped the house as a real home from home. As well as a separate family games and TV room, the house is equipped with everything you need for younger children including a high chair, 2 travel cots and lots of children's games and toys

Why Jacqui Barwood chose Margate

We fell in love with SeaView House as soon as we saw it. With stunning views out over the sea and a Blue Flag beach at the bottom of the steps, it is perfect for family holidays.

We have spent the last year lovingly restoring this Grade II listed Victorian town house back to its former glory.

The house is full of original Victorian charm complete with a large and elegant first floor sitting room with a covered verandah to enjoy the sea air.

Outside, it's straight onto the coastal footpath - turn left to Westgate on Sea and right to Margate with the Turner Contemporary Gallery and charming Old Town, complete with galleries, cafes and restaurants.

At the rear is a lovely secluded garden.

We have stayed in many holiday houses and this was definitely one of the best. The house is beautiful and finished to such a high standard - it was a real treat to stay in and very spacious. The highlight had to be the location. It was fantastic to be able to walk down to the beach (where we spent all day playing on the Saturday) and not having to get in the car all weekend.

We (a group of ten adults) stayed for the weekend and the house could not have suited us better. We appreciated the same things that other reviewers have noted. Great location - a quiet sea-front street (with sea views from the principal rooms), a few minutes walk from the railway station and a pleasant short walk into the town. Spacious, well appointed and maintained accommodation. The layout allows for privacy (most bedrooms have en suite facilities) as well as socialising - large comfortable first floor sitting room, open plan kitchen/dining room across the width of the ground floor, plus courtyard garden with seating. Very well equipped kitchen. Highly recommended.

Fabulous house iwith wonderful views

We spent a great weekend here with a group of friends. The house itself is superb - spacious, tastefully appointed and well equipped. The location is ideal, in a quiet virtually traffic free street just a step away from a sandy beach. The harbour, the old town and the Turner gallery are a gentle 10 minute traffic free stroll away along the promenade. The train station, just a few minutes walk from the house is a good transport hub (we spent a day sightseeing in Canterbury and followed that up with an evening meal in Whitstable, all by public transport, while, for anyone who likes their beer, there is a brilliant little micropub, less than two minutes walk away.
We are already planning our next visit!

Beautiful house overlooking the beach

Lovely location, overlooking the beach. House inside is huge, and beautiful - high ceilings, grand hallway etc. House was ideal for the 12 of us; large enough, lots of bathrooms and everything we needed for a long weekend. Kitchen had everything you needed and we spent most of the time in the dining room, barely used the lounge! Easy 5-10min walk into Margate. Plenty or free parking out the front. Would definetly recommend.

STUNNING SEAFRONT VICTORIAN HOLIDAY HOME

We are the first family to spend time in this holiday home just outside Margate and it is exactly how the owners described it. It is very tastefully decorated and restored to its original beauty, with high ceilings and corniches. Jacqui and Nick did everything they could to accommodate our large party. We all took turns to sleep in the front main bedroom with its lovely sea views. There is plenty of room in this house so you are not falling over everybody and many activities near for children during the summer months on the seafront. Well worth a holiday here. Hopefully we will be booking again in the near future. Many thanks Kevin, Gill & Family from Beckenham, Kent.

The full bathroom is on the top floor and enjoys sea views which can be seen from the Victorian roll top bath. It can either be used as a family bathroom or as a private bathroom to the master bedroom (bedroom 1). The top floor also is home to a shower room opposite bedroom 2 and can easily be used as a private facility by this bedroom. The remaining 4 bedrooms each have separate ensuite shower rooms equipped with thermostatic showers. Finally, there is also a separate cloakroom which can be easily accessed from all of the reception rooms.
